Learning to Speak Up Without Fear
This book helped me in a way I didn’t expect. I picked it up hoping to get a few tips on how to feel less awkward in conversations, but what I found was much more structured and useful. It’s divided into three parts: the first explains how social anxiety actually works—what causes it, how it grows, and why it doesn’t go away on its own. This part really made me feel understood, especially when the author described the fear of being judged or “taking up space.” I related to that a lot. The second part gives you tools—things you can try immediately. I liked how simple and clear they were, from grounding techniques to practicing specific sentences to say when you get nervous. One small but powerful exercise was listing my “social strengths,” something I had never done. It helped me realize I’m not as “broken” as I thought. What stood out the most to me, though, was the workbook. It’s not fluff. Every chapter comes with reflection prompts and actions that build on each other. For example, after learning about “cognitive distortions,” I had to write down my own and challenge them. That process alone made me more aware of how much I was second-guessing myself in real-time. There’s a section on self-belief that doesn’t feel cheesy. It actually shows how confidence grows with proof—small wins in real life. The final chapters include guidance on maintaining the progress you’ve made, so it doesn’t just fade after finishing the book. I also signed up for the online content that comes with it; getting some follow-up emails with reminders and bonus material made me feel like someone actually wanted me to succeed. If social anxiety has made you feel like you’re always stuck on the sidelines, this book won’t just tell you “you’re fine”—it will show you how to become fine, step by step.

Finally feel comfortable socializing
I found this book really helpful for understanding why I freeze up in group conversations and how to practice new social skills in a gradual way. The workbook exercises gave me specific actions to take each week they built my confidence through small success is rather than throwing me into overwhelming situations. Especially appreciated the personal stories from the author that made me feel less alone in my struggles and showed me that social anxiety can actually be overcome with the right approach. I don't know what I would do without having a hug sometimes, and open socialness is important for that kind of support.

Great Anxiety Book
This book can help people who have debilitating anxiety in social situations, and also have negative thoughts about themselves. I don't have anxiety like that, but I did find it helpful in learning cognitive distortions and how to help undo that with cognitive behavioral therapy, or CBT for short. There's also a chapter on gratitude, which I have been learning into. There are a lot of helpful lessons in the book.

An interesting and well-written book, with practical tips for dealing with shyness and social anxiety. The clear, motivating, and accessible style makes it an authentic read. The focus is on empathy and lived experience rather than on academically grounded psychology. However, a more theoretical framework and solid references to scientific sources would have added depth and credibility. Overall, a nice guide for those looking for emotional support and a personal change.

I just finished reading “End Your Shyness & Social Anxiety.” If you’ve ever felt your heart race before entering a room full of people or avoided social situations because they make you feel uncomfortable, this book truly understands what you’re going through. What makes this book special is that it’s actually three books in one—healing techniques, social skills training, and a downloadable workbook, all focused on overcoming shyness and social anxiety. The author does an excellent job explaining what social anxiety feels like in your body, describing symptoms like sweating, blushing, trembling or getting a lump in your throat. Reading these descriptions made me feel less alone and helped me realize these reactions are normal parts of social anxiety. One of the most helpful sections focuses in negative thinking patterns. The book explains how thoughts like “I can never do anything right” feed into social anxiety and teaches you how to replace them with more positive self-talk with many examples to help you navigate the negativity. You learn how to prepare a self-care plan that includes journaling; mindfulness meditation; getting regular exercise; spending time in nature; etc. Learning to be your own supporter instead of your worst critic is crucial for building the confidence needed to overcome shyness. The practical self-care techniques are specifically designed for people with social anxiety, and the communication skills section was incredibly helpful for someone who often feels tongue-tied or doesn’t speak at all in social situations. Instead of suggesting you jump into conversations with strangers, the author wisely recommends starting with people you already know and feel comfortable around. I highly recommend this book.

Everything you need to start comprehending and treating your social anxiety from the inside out is included in “End Your Shyness & Social Anxiety”. For readers such as me, the workbook section's practical activities are highly beneficial. As someone who has experienced different levels of anxiety throughout my life, I think the book offers readers a variety of levels of engagement, which is definitely worth it.

It’s a very good book, and it’s unfortunate I’ve had to rate it 3 stars. This is because you actually only get 2 in 1, the third book - the workbook - requires you to sign up to an unknown site and download in PDF form. So if you don’t have access to a printer to print the 62 pages, then the workbook is useless to you. Other than that, it’s a very good book, I just wished they’d included all of it.
