Expensive, but a little goes a long way.
Nuru's Platinum Massage Gel Powder is sold in individual 5g sachets, and in a choice of 1, 2, 3, 5, or 10 sachet packs, so you can try a single sachet or stock up. In the past I've bought a similar product in a big tub which can absorb moisture from the atmosphere and go rubbery over time, not so with these individual sachets, they're easier to store and you can make just the right amount. Each 5 g sachet can make up to 500 ml of gel, and you can easily adjust the thickness by using less water for a richer, more luxurious texture. Mixing is straightforward: I find adding the powder to a screw‑top jar works best, then give it a good shake. Let it stand for about 20 minutes, and you’re good to go. The main ingredient, sodium polyacrylate, hydrates into an incredibly slippery, long‑lasting gel that’s paraben free, fragrance free, odourless and tasteless. It provides a clean, neutral base that works well for both massage and personal lubrication. Clean-up is effortless because the formula is water soluble — no greasy residue on skin or sheets. It can dry a little on very dry skin, but a quick spritz of water instantly restores the glide. For a more sensual experience you can add a few drops of your own essential oil to the mix, but dilute sparingly and do a patch test first. Overall, this has been a superior, easy‑to‑use alternative to oil‑based massage products which I highly recommend.

Very nice gel pack
I got a ten pack of this massage gel - it's extremely compact and the 10 sachets of powder fit in a tiny box, each is only 5 grams, but once you add water it balloons into 500 ml of gel. I'm not sure how it works but it does amazingly. You don't have to make 500ml, that's just the upper limit and least viscous possibility, if you use less water you get a more viscous and "heavy" gel - so I would recommend start off by adding 250 ml of water, then increasing it to find the consistency you like best. It takes 15 - 20 minutes to properly set and transform the water into gel. The gel is free of smells and very slippery stuff - it's just pure gel and works wonderfully for massaging. This is a bit pricy but for the convenience of having it split up into ten sachets and the overall quality, and compared to similar products I've tried in the past, I don't think it's overly dear, and decent value for money at £34.99 at the time of writing this review - so £3.50 per batch of gel. Should last me a good while. I like that it's water based and not greasy like oils, and it's easy to clean up and use. Two thumbs up for this gel, very pleased with it!

Interesting Alternative to Seaweed Massage
I ordered this Nuru Massage Gel Powder because I'm a fan of massage techniques and like to try new things. On the positive side, this Gel arrives in a box of 10 sachets. You mix the powder with water to get a gel. Be certain to follow the instructions to get the consistency of the traditional seaweed for a Japanese-style Nuru Massage. What you end up with is a bit like wallpaper paste (ha ha). This gel is not in fact made from seaweed but a manufactured alternative. In its favour, it is completely free of odour and taste. It doesn't stain as a massage oil would. It did not cause any irritation either. The traditional Nuru massage would be body to body and this gel could be used with a partner, or not. I do prefer to add a few drops of essential oil, which I'm already used to. If massage with a gel forms a major part of your life, this could be worth purchasing on a regular basis, but for me it's much too expensive to be worth it.

Convenient, but texture won’t appeal to all
This is a powdered massage gel that you mix with water — and I’ll admit, I initially missed the instruction to combine it with 250ml of water. My first reaction was, “Huh? This is useless!” Once I realised my mistake and mixed it properly, things made much more sense. Preparation does require patience. It needs very thorough mixing, and it takes a little time to fully dissolve. At first, it looks slightly lumpy and cloudy, but with continued stirring it becomes smooth and translucent. (I’ve included photos of the interim and final mix side by side so you can see the difference.) The final consistency is closer to a serum or raw egg white texture rather than an oil or lotion. It’s completely fragrance-free and doesn’t feel greasy. That makes it less likely to stain sheets compared to oil-based products, which some people will definitely appreciate. However, because it isn’t oily, it absorbs or dries more quickly than a traditional massage oil. That means you may need to reapply more frequently during use. As it dries, it can leave a slightly tight or tacky feeling on the skin. My partner’s verdict was (perhaps a bit harshly!) “a little gloopy,” so texture preference will be personal. If you enjoy oil-based products with long glide time, this may feel different from what you’re used to. If you prefer something non-greasy, easy to rinse off, and less likely to stain fabrics, this could be appealing. Overall, it’s an interesting, customisable option — particularly useful for travel since you only mix what you need. Just be prepared to mix it thoroughly and allow a little time for the texture to fully develop.

Chemical not seaweed
This is not made from seaweed - its synthetic chemicals - others are made from seaweed , stick to those
