It is a quality lap pad. This is something my daughter has stared using to help her sit still in class. It does the job and it doesn't stand out as a distraction for the other kids. She likes the softness and the size which folds over her lap with room on either side. She is about 5ft.

I have several weighted blankets that I've used for a couple years. They are extremely soothing. They help me a TON with sleep - and with them, I can fall asleep and wake up many hours later in the same position rather than restlessly tossing and turning all night. SO....my senior golden retriever (13 years old; 70lbs) has a recurring wrist injury. Every time she re-injures it, it's really hard on her and causes her much distress. This spring she has injured it twice in 3 months! We can manage the pain for her and keep it immobilized while it heals, but for her, we can tell she gets really frustrated with each recurring injury (she can be quite dramatic, good thing we know her so well!). On a whim I purchased this blanket for her. She's only used it for 3 days so far, but she really (!) likes it! It keeps her still and resting so she can heal. It even helps when we apply ice bc she's not trying to get up and get the ice off! I can leave the room (usually she would try to follow me which is not good when trying to limit movement) and she is in such a deep slumber that she doesn't even notice I left for a few minutes. This seems to be a high quality blanket, perfect for a child, or for a large dog!

The media could not be loaded. Really cool lap pad. My 5 year old boy really likes it. It's pretty comforting for him to have the pressure. It really calms him down.Made really well. It's heavy and feels sturdy. Good stitching and fabric quality. Holds up well to abuse. It would travel well if you need to. Certainly in the car but also in luggage on a flight.The "beans" inside are in 8 compartments, so the blanket never gets too out of balance like other brands might.He likes the colors too. Very playful.I highly recommend this blanket. Thanks for making a great product for my son.

My 2 year old grandson is struggling with sensory issues and one of the things suggested was a weighted blanket to give him comfort. My daughter decided to try a lap blanket first to see if he liked it before spending on a full blanket. He LOVES it! As soon as he had it in his lap, he visibly relaxed and snuggled down. He likes to take it with him, which is another reason she decided to try that size first. They use it at bedtime right now and he is sleeping much better, and they plan to buy a full size blanket for him as well. Thank you for this fabulous product! It's colorful, the texture is very interesting for him to brush his hands over, and it's easy for traveling! I'm so very thankful there are quality products that actually work for children like my grandson that will help make his life happier! You have an outstanding product!

Bought this for my 3 year-old who has sensory issues and what seems to be ADHD. At first she liked feeling the texture, but then she said it was "too heavy" and refused to use it at all. The quality seems good and I find it soothing myself, but for some kids it may seem too heavy for their comfort.

This is great for my 9yo autistic son when he’s dysregulated… he’ll go sit in a quiet space with this lap pad and just rub his hands on the bumpy side to help regulate. It’s great quality too!

I hadn’t looked carefully enough & thought it was bigger, so initially I was disappointed. Once I adjusted to the idea of this only covering your lap, it was good. The actual product itself - the weighted lap blanket - is wonderful. It is Very well made, has high quality, soft but engaging texture, and the beads inside that add weight have also been a fidget calmer for some of my kids. (They’ll hold a corner in their hand and squish the beads around). I have children actually fighting over getting to use it - so I’m looking to purchase more!

I needed lap pads (or something) for college students to use when studying in very cold study rooms. I was familiar with weighted blankets and thought these might do. They are wonderful: small, soft, warm, and easily cleaned (machine washable and we have an Oreck flash ultralight for sanitizing). They came in their own heavy duty plastic and hemp bags which makes it easier for us to check them out from the front desk of the library. The company also sent us an ebook about nutrition that while our students aren't autistic seems somewhat irrelevant but had great nutritional tips for my family -- and other staff members felt the same. Very customer-centered company! I would definitely seek this company out again for other products.
