A solid product - better than the big names...
The media could not be loaded. I bought an Annke video doorbell originally as the Annke CCTV I have is faultless. Disappointing, sent it back - 'nuff said. Having seen the excellent reviews for the Tapo TD21 on Amazon and YouTube, I decided to order it. Where do I start? First and foremost, it's super easy to set up. The still images and video quality are razor sharp and the viewing angle (fully adjustable), is wider than most. And, unlike a lot of other video doorbells out there, you don't have to take out a subscription to access all the fully customisable features, they come as standard. Yes, you can opt to take out a subscription, but I chose to install a micro SD card instead, which captures events perfectly. Detection-wise you can set it to any combination of motion, person, pet and vehicle. Battery life is pretty impressive, too. Since fully charging it and installing it some several weeks back, it's at 87% and that's after having a good play about with it, tweaking all the settings. An excellent mid-entry video doorbell from Tapo range and reasonably priced - great functionality and, of course, peace of mind. Best of all the Amazon delivery drivers use it! If If I had a gripe, it would be it's not available in black. All in all a neat video doorbell - thoroughly recommended.

Good quality
Now the picture quality it's as promised of 2K, it's easy to install, easy to connect to the ecosystem, has a good motion detection. This are the pros. The cons are that you really have to play with the functions if you don't want to be bothered at the slightest movement form the street (I leave on a main road with intense traffic). The app isn't so intuitive as it is for the indoor cameras for example so if you're not so handy with the technology...it's going to be difficult to set it up. Although it has a slight lag, the connectivity on the wi-fi it's good and stable, but after all the lag can be also from my internet provider. After all, it's a good value for money and if you are interested about purchasing a monthly subscription from Tapo is ok, but if you don't fancy this though then you have the option to mount a micro SD card but you won't have the video's available for 30 days as you can have them with the monthly subscription.

Works well but some features drain the battery quickly
The video quality is very good and can be switched between 360p and 2K HD. There's an option to have full colour night vision which is a handy feature. The recording feature was easy to use but drains a lot of the battery (had this around 6 weeks and battery is already at 60%).It's also very sensitive and I kept getting notifications for "motion" when it was actually just a nearby tree branch blowing in the wind. This also drains a lot of battery but the sensitivity can be changed and mine is now at 1 whilst still detecting people and vechiles. It's AI detection feature is mostly accurate however sometimes it detects cars and vans as 'people motion', but again you can correct the event type in the app and this helps train the AI on future detection events. It is easy to set up with a setup guide within the app. I already have another Tapo camera in the app so it was easy to connect to wifi.I mounted this with my own adhesive stickers as the ones provided were not secure or strong enough, and even became non-sticky once removed from the wrapper. It is probably best attached with nails but if you have to attach it to a plastic door frame or brick like me, you'll need to buy seperate strong adhesive stickers.Overall this is a good all-round, first doorbell camera that has worked well for me. I bought this when on offer and it was £5 cheaper than another Tapo doorbell that looks similar but is actually the exact same just a different name (basically it is the same product but one is for the EU market and the other US market). It also comes with a doorbell chime that you plug-in which the ring volume and sound can be adjusted from the app.Tapo also has a range of features like Smart actions and community help forum.

Best doorbell camera
I've had this for 3 months so I figured it's time to post a review.Pros:No subscription required. Can use microSD card for storageBattery lasts about 40 days per charge2k quality video.Adjustable detection.Customizable answer and doorbell (you can add a recording of your voice for deliveries)Good detection.Amazing value for price considering theres no need for subscription.Compatible with alexa and firestick (image shows on the TV once the doorbell is pressed)ConsSometimes i get notifications of activity and the recording doesnt show how that person or item got into the frame, just shows that theyre already there. For example a ball that rolls in front of the door, half the time only detected once a person gets there.Pets are sometimes detected as persons , but thats not really an issue.I would absolutely reccomend this to anyone over the more popular video doorbells for the sole reason there is no subscription needed.

Simply outperform my previous ring dorbell.
I use to have a Ring dorbell 2023, but due to extreme high subscription price and signal issues i have decided to replace it. After some research i have decided to buy Tapo TD21 wich is the same device as D210 there is marketing difference only.It has better signal than my previous ring device , my router on the top floor and i had poor signal and connection drops with my previous ring, but i have 5/5 strong signal with this tapo from the same distance. So happy with it!Another + is the Tapo works without subscription, and all the feature are avaliable, you just need an SD card..However if you decide to pay subscription for Tapo they are offer the service for the half of the Ring price. £25/Year.It has even more features than my previous ring, for example you can set separate detection zones for humans and pets and much more.Installation is super easy.Compared to the Ring device i would say it's much better in every way and it's even cheaper.I'm happy with it.
