Better quality expected for price.
I bought 2 of these. Not good quality for £400. My last Cocoon Hen House's lasted nearly 15 years, but I doubt these will. It is nowhere near as good quality. It is a lot flimsier in comparison - thinner, lighter/cheaper wood. Some parts arrived pre-assembled incorrectly and I had to rectify, other parts slightly damaged with screws torn out. Long wooden "V"' piece that waterproofs the two roof halves for some reason is made in two pieces when it should be one continuous piece of wood to seal properly as the two parts don't match up very well once house is assembled. Not as nice quality as I expected from Cocoon after owning previous houses of theirs. They need to think about the quality a lot more for the money asked. Update: 1. I have had these 2 set up for about a month now and already the wood on one house has split just from me putting a little weight on it whilst cleaning it out, 4 of the perch holders have broken just from the weight of chickens getting on and off it, the perches also fall out of their holders as chickens use them, and the larger of the two nesting boxes needs to be braced at the bottom now as the wood is so thin it's already bowing from the weight of chickens going in to lay eggs. It is also a horrible design to clean out, you have to crawl around it on hands and knees, once side doors are opened to clean house the base trays cannot be slid in or out as the hinged doors fold down and block the entrance. Not well thought through at all. This size of house needs to be much higher from the ground so it can be worked on by the owner far more easily. Chickens also prefer houses to be higher for when they roost at night, they feel a lot safer higher and it took a week or so before my chickens would even go in it - and a couple still refuse to use them. Biggest disappointment is the quality of the wood, it is just too thin and flimsy. Very disappointed and changing my rating to a one-star. Ideally I'd like the seller to contact me to discuss...... Update: 2. After having my issues resolved by the seller, I'm changing my rating to a 3*. That is purely because of the excellent aftercare from Cocoon. House is still a 1* in my opinion due to quality.
