Google Chromecast with Google TV HD Snow GB (GA03131-GB)

I had a gen 3 Chromecast which I lost and was looking for a replacement. I saw the Chromecast with Google TV and decided to give it a shot. This thing far exceeded my expectations. Being able to load apps on the Chromecast itself is extremely convenient, but the best thing about this is the remote. Absolute game changer. It's one of those things you don't realize you need until you finally use one. It makes things so much easier than having to fiddle with your phone every time you want to pause or rewind. For anyone considering this vs an older version, I would highly recommend the Chromecast with Google TV.

It's working well

Easy installation. Excellent quality.

It’s a great device most of the time, providing a simple but good smart tv user experience at a very affordable price. BUT, sometimes it hangs and is very slow to respond to the remote, behaving like it’s starved for resources (CPU/Memory). It doesn’t happen frequently enough to be a deal breaker though.

I used to have a Xiaomi Android player to convert my not-so-smart TV into a smart TV. However, I had to deal with 2 remote controls; one for Samsung TV and the other for a Xiaomi player. The player used to take a few seconds to wake up and the speed to switch apps was also not so great. A bit frustrated, I saw a youtube video about this player and thought of trying it out. Out of the box, the device came in Spanish language but during the set-up, I could change it to English. Once done, everything worked as expected. The response is zippy, the sound input commands work perfectly and the menus are intuitive. Best of all, somehow, it takes over the TV on-off function and I can control the TV and the player with the remote control of the player including the volume up and down. A good investment indeed

What an amazing production. 10/10 quality. I love it speaking feature which makes it 100 percent user friendly.

The best part it its easy to insatll it did most of the connection itself.... had seen a few y tube video as my tV was older but installation was smoother than I expected. The fact that you can speak into the remote and it selects the correct video was great for my mother to use too.

So far it works with my cheap china made TV and the apps wotks as well.

I am very happy with this purchase. It actively works to make TV-watching more efficient and the price is great. It feels high-quality and I love that it can turn on and off my TV without using the original remote. It was a life saver for me as my original remote was dying.
