It's a gel pen. I thought it would be ballpoint.Pretty good but not consistent smoothness. Sometimes too thick or too thin.It doesn't smudge on Balzic notebook paper (99¢ store) but it smudged on my bullet journal paper and a few other surfaces, so that's not consistent either. It does write fine mostly and the ink is very dark which is helpful for rereading later.I would rate it 3.5 stars, so I rounded up.

OMG is she fine. I am absolutely obsessed with this pen. Now don’t get me wrong—it’s not for everyone. It’s a little on the scratchy side, so if you like a super glidy, ballpoint feel, this might not be your match. But if you’re someone who grew up writing only in pencil and made the glorious switch to pens? This one’s a dream.It writes so consistently, so fine, with no skipping (cough cough unlike some other pens I’ve banished). My notes legit look printed. I love her. I panic when I misplace her. I know I will write with this baby until the ink runs dry and the barrel’s worn down.This might be the first pen I ever commit to. Love love love.

Great and smooth

The look of the pens are nice but has a scan code permanently on the exterior of the pen. Most pens have a sticker with bar code that can be easily removed. This make these pens look cheap and do not give justice to how beautiful they actually write. There is competition in the micro fine gel pen selling business. So another pen that writes beautiful and is also slick, minimalist in its appearance without the eye sore of a permanent barcode stamped on it, it will win over this pen. I believe if you simply remove this, it will do much better. Good price point.

Love the thin but dark lines when writing with this pen. Had a coworker borrow it to jot something down and she commented on what a great pen it was.Love that it does not smudge!
