Great little gadget to keep in your car or handy if you need to check a stray or even a sadly run over cat.We found a stray and this machine confirmed no microchip. Long story short we now have a third cat... It also confirmed our microchipped cats details accurately. It's small and doesn't take up much space, lightweight and easy to use.

I bought this while staying with my parents. There was an unknown cat hanging around. He was so hungry and meowing so pitifully! He was very nervous so it was tricky to get close to him but he started coming near my Mum while she put food down.I took his photo and put it on Facebook and Nextdoor . My mum asked around the neighbours but we couldn’t find anything out.The prospect of trapping an unknown cat and taking it to the vet to get scanned was a bit daunting- I’d rather pay for this scanner!My mum practiced using it on their cat- he was frightened of it but he’s frightened of everything as any 8.5kg ginger monster would be!Anyway, she scanned the unknown visitor cat and took the tip from another reviewer to have your phone ready to take a pic of the chip number.She called the vet who was then able to contact the owner.Turns out he’s just very cheeky and greedy and not at all lost! My Mum now knows his name- which puzzled the cat! And his owners know somewhere he might be if they can’t find him!100% worth the money just to know if a random cat needs help or not. I’ve had cats go missing and it’s awful, so I always want to try and help if I see a kitty around that I don’t recognise. I also don’t want to kidnap someone’s cat to the vet! This scanner just solves the problem.

Easy to use but the display is very small. Chip number stayed on the screen long enough for me to check it, but my husband struggled to read the number when he tried.
