DEERC D65 4K EIS Camera Drone with 2-Axis Gimbal for Adults, 26-Min Long Flight Time
Nice compact drone at 244gm with C0 class marking. Launch both with and without GPS lock were problematic. I first tried inside without GPS switched on but from launch, the rear end lifted before the front and drone started flying forward. Unable to trust it indoors, I went outdoors and had the same problem both with and without GPS lock. The drone just wanted to go forwards and would not hover on the spot. It required constant rear right stick to keep it stable despite multiple re-calibrations. I have watched a few video reviews of this drone that had no such problem. In fact, I have never seen a drone where the back lifts off before the front. The quick start guide tell how to do compass calibration.(Both sticks up and inwards.) Went online and downloaded the 64 page user manual which had how to calibrate the giro(Both sticks down and left until the lights on drone start flashing.) This is not in the quick start guide and completely solved my instability problem. It is worth noting that this drone does not appear to be Geo-aware nor does it support Remote ID which are requirements under the UKs new drone laws. Whilst it is currently legally allowed to fly in the UK A1 sub category during the legacy drone grace period which ends on 1/1/2028 by which time legacy drones must be made compliant with UK law. As this drone does not support firmware updates, I am unsure if Geo-awareness and Remote ID functionality can be retro fitted. Perhaps the manufacture can clarify this? Whilst it will now hover on the spot, it is a bit twitchy and not rock solid like some of the more expensive drones. Video quality is very good and stable at (2560 x 1440). Photo resolution is (3840 x 2160) It comes in a lovely padded carry case. For a £100 drone with 2-axis gimble, this is great VFM and good for learning on. Would have given 5 star were it not for the resolution discrepancies. I.e. Not 4K It only comes with one battery and at time of writing Jan 2026, the manufacture DEERC are revamping their website so no idea on spares availability. Update, after checking with seller; batteries and other spares are available but will be ordered in from abroad.
