Well Made
Great boot. Light weight yet very supportive. Technical feel. Good grip on all soils but can slip on the the right combination of wet and stone or wood.

La Sportiva Ultra Raptors FTW
Having previously purchased the non leather version of the Ultra Raptors I wanted a leather waterproof version that was similarly lightweight. These delivered above and beyond. Regarding fit if you’re new to La Sportiva, opted for one full size up size 11 (wear a 10 in Merrells) and did the same thing with my other pair and they fit perfectly. Literally no break in period and super comfortable. Took them out on a soggy and submersible hike in mud and sloppy conditions with a number of water crossings. Great support and protection, feet stayed dry and over 7+ miles barely noticed these were on my feet. These are a mid boot, and I’ve seen other complaints about lack of ankle support since the upper of the boot has a bit of flex but personally I actually like a little play in the upper versus a rigid wrapper right around my ankle. While still early days, if these work as well as my other pair that’s seen probably 150+ miles already, I will definitely look to replace them again in the future with the same pair. Right now these are my top 2 hiking boots for rainy and dry conditions, this coming from someone that’s worn Merrells for years and tried numerous other companies like Asolo, Arcteryx, Salomon and others.

Nice boot, but..
I ordered a 1/2 size larger due to the reviews but found the boot to be too short. Nice boot though and well constructed!

Poor support. Not La Sportiva quality I received in my La Sportiva Spire GTX shoes
I'm disappointed with this shoe. I normally wear La Sportiva Spire GTX shoes. I tried these Raptors, but they seem cheaply made compared to the La Sportiva Spire GTX shoe. The Raptors caused my feet to hurt every time once I had gone 3 miles. The soles on these seem chinsy to me. They are too soft and not supportive enough. My feet are stable in La Sportiva GTX Spires, but in these, I felt like I was walking on foam and had no support under my feet. I really hope La Sportiva isn't discontinuing the Spire GTX shoes with these Raptors because the Raptors are cheaply made and and do not offer foot support. The Spire GTX shoes have support, the Raptors do not and hurt if you go any distance. Raptors are nothing but an expensive cheaply made shoe. Very disappointed in this - I'd expect more from La Sportiva and for them to not cut corners on quality and still expect $200 is ridiculous.

Light, confortable and stable
Totally worth the price. I am not a hard core trekker and bought these boots because a friend recommended them. I just went to the Sierra de la Laguna, in Baja and they performed really well. Very comfortable from the start, didn’t need to break them out. Also very stable and light.

Not Always Waterproof
These boots are narrow. Go up a half or full size. They are kind of weird. They are 95% waterproof, but you would never know it while wearing them. They feel as though your feet are getting soaked, due to the cold, clammy sensation inside the boot against my Darn Tough hiking socks. The "leather" outer upper even looks like it gets saturated. In some spots it has a mottled effect. I treated these boots with Nikwax, as the instructions say, yet they still feel weird and parts of the leather look wet, other sections don't. It would be nice if they explained the weirdness. But corporations don't seem to take any responsibility anymore.

Wow- What hiking shoe!!!!
They weren't kidding when they said these boots are ready to go the minute you step in them. Well fitting, comfortable, definitely waterproof with good temperature regulation. I particularly like the fact there are multiple sizes within a range available to get the exact fit one needs. Would recommend highly

Very Durable Hiking Shoe
These shoes are very durable compared with many other hiking shoe models. I have used them to hike many hundreds of miles in the backcountry and they are holding up well. No notable damage yet which is rare for me with hiking shoes. Usually some glued, stitched, or molded parts have at least become loose or undone by now. Not with these, they are very well built. I’ve used them in wet and dry conditions including snow. They don’t have that great of traction on ice however they aren’t terrible either. I’ve never used them on asphalt - only dirt, rock, and various natural terrains. Highly recommended.
