The bit holders in this set weren't as sturdy as other styles I had used before but they were good in a pinch. This set had two additional options besides the 1/2, so that was a plus. They'll all last longer in the ratchet toolbox than with even the weak little impact I have. I expected better of the "impact screwdriver bits," which ground off the coating of the tips even in the regular cordless drill. While it's nice to have the option of using ratchets instead of the ratcheting screwdriver, these bits didn't quite stand up to even light usage with an impact. That made me question the adapters' longevity as well and relegate them to non-impact usage where they're quite helpful.

Headline encapsulates it well, you get what you pay for. The quick-release mechanism on 1 of my 3 bit holders came apart in my hands the first time I used it, all of 30 seconds after removing it from its packaging; in my case the 1/4" drive holder. The black oxide like finish is typical for this grade of tool, which is to say that its not consistent and makes the tool look slightly used.I wouldn't trust this for actual hard use (high torque impact, exposure to environments, etc), but given that this is just a bit holder most people are going to use with hex and screw driving bits, I doubt the majority of buyers will ever need to worry about that.

These are great socket for using a hex bit with a 1/4 inch ratchet. The collets locks in the bit by pulling forward to drop in the bit. I also like that the collar swivels so that you can guide the screw by holding onto the collar while using the ratchet. Would have liked an assortment of 1/4 and 3/8 inch drive instead of all 1/4, but I can leave different bits in their own collet so I don't have to change them out until replacing the bits that are worn out.

There are times when I have my impact driver, and I'd just like to screw in a screw quickly. Instead of having to get my drill driver out, with this I can just use the impact driver to do the screwdriving. It adapts the 3/8 drive that the impact driver has to a 1/4" quick release hex socket.I've already had a few occasions to use this, and it works great. Since you're using an impact driver, do make sure you drop down the torque setting on your impact driver when driving screws - no need to have it up high, as you might just end up driving the screw through whatever you're driving it into.The release on the quick release operates inward towards the driver, whereas the quick release for my drill driver works opposite to this. This feels more natural than the way the one on my drill driver works.My only slight complaint is that there is a lot of play in the quick release when you put a bit in it. All quick release bit holders have some play in them, but this one is more than there is on my other quick release bit holder on my drill driver. Still, not really much of an issue, so I'm not dropping a star for it.All in all it's a good product, and the price is pretty good for two of these.
