Morphy Richards Great value electric knife
If you need an electric knife this is very good quality and value for money! Bought for my elderly mum to take a little elbow grease out of slicing bread, cutting meats, etc! It has 2 blades that are powered back and forth. I would say it a standard bread knife length (24-26cm). The blades are easy to lock in for use. It cuts extremely well. The handle takes a little bit of getting used to because the motor is mounted in the handle. So it is heavier and wider than the handle of a knife. But within a few easy slices of bread you are in the swing of it!

Good but heavy for elderly to use.
The knife is good value for money. We appreciate that it would be difficult to lessen the weight of the well made knife, It is for an elderly gentleman to use,, with arthritic hands. for cutting crusty bread etc.The ergonomic handle, rather than the slim bodied type helps immensely, but the knife is still heavy. On balance a very good knife for the money paid,

Like a hot knife through butter
I bought this after my old Cookworks electric knife stopped working. I mainly use it for cutting through raw meat for my dogs. This knife is wonderful, lighter in weight than my previous one and it sliced through a joint of raw beef, like a hot knife through butter. It’s easy to use straight from the box. Love it.

Great value electric knife
Bought this to carve a turkey crown and ham joint. It was a budget price compared to others. It’s my first electric knife so can’t compare to others. Given the price it did the job. It cut through both Turkey and ham with ease. I could smell the motors going on the first use but haven’t since. It’s easy to set up and use.Given the price it’s good value. It would be great if it came in a store away box or bag as I only really plan on using for occasional carving.

Poor quality control?
I'm quoting, as a copy and paste, the comments of a reviewer in 2024:"I had a previous electric knife for 30 years, and never had an issue with it In all of that time. The blades (on this RH knife) separate on use, leaving a gap, rendering it unusable to carve meat."I found in trying to carve meat, the meat disintegrated to form a mush between the blades. Just the same trying to cut slices of a fruit cake.My husband was a Director of RH some 30 years ago and I would have expected 5* reviews from every user. I can only assume that some knives have escaped proper quality control, but if you have one of those, it is very disappointing.

My goodnesss - the noise this knife makes!!
Even if you can tolerate the row this knife makes, it is so cheap and nasty to handle. I wonder why the Chinese take over the manufacture of these items, but cannot produce the same excellent quality as when they were made in Europe. We are not given the opportunity to pay more when replacing old units for the same quality but have to make do with these offerings. Very annoying.Edit: I can't use this anymore - the racket as it cuts has caused an unpleasant ringing in my ears. I will look for another brand and preserve my hearing.
