This starter is wonderful. My post office has very short hours of operation so my starter sat in the post office for 4 days after delivery before I could pick it up and it became ready to use after the second feed, quadrupling in size after feeds. I have never seen a sourdough starter that is this healthy and strong before.It took me 2 days after it arrived to go get the right flour because I realized the flour I had stored in my pantry was infested with weevils and I live in the mountains 2 hours away from anywhere that sells the right flour. So the starter went 6 days without a feed and was ready to bake after 2 feeds!The seller is also wonderful, I contacted them when I realized my flour can’t be used to see if another type of flour I had would work and they were very prompt and helpful with their response.This is a fabulous deal, honestly I would pay $50 for a tablespoon of it if that’s what they charged but they are selling it for a very generous price. Buy this starter, you can beat it up and it will survive.

This is an amazing live and very strong starter! 100% gluten free with rice flour. It took a week to get to me, but it came back to life after 1 feeding! I have made some wonderful bread with it, tastes great and had a great crumb for GF.

Couldn’t be happier with this product. First starter I’ve ever bought or used, I went with the Black Death starter.It arrived early. It was revived and active by the next day after the initial feeding. It was fresh and smelled amazing. I fed it once more just to be sure it was going strong and then made a loaf. This was less than three days after receiving it. The bread is spectacular - great flavor & texture, and really fun to make. Highly recommend this company for a quality starter that has so much history behind it.

I never leave reviews ever but I felt it was needed for this. I tried another gluten free culture before this one and it failed it never bubbled had hard to follow instructions and overall a waste of very expensive flour. However this one was AMAZING on day 2 it already doubled in size and was super fluffy. The instructions were easy to follow and by day 3 I was able to make Gluten free bagels and I currently have a loaf proofing. I fed the culture the day I got it per the instructions at first I was unsure because it had a thicker consistency but one day two it was almost to big for the jar that I had to move it to a bigger jar as seen in the photos. I would totally recommend this to any Gluten free person trying to make sourdough. I also used King Arthur Gluten free bread flour for mine it recommends not using a flour with Xanthum gum in it but it worked perfectly fine.

Good starter. Follow directions to get it growing and you will have no issues.
