The box is sturdy, good quality and makes it safe to use a trap or poison blocks. The key is a must so make sure you don't loose it. Easy to set up and bait blocks are decent size. We have had ours eaten or taken away but have yet to find a dead rat, so can't say 100% the poison works. Overall good quality, ease of use and safe. Make sure you do not handle the box or anything else with bare hands and always wear gloves.

This is probably the best value rat box and poison brand currently on Amazon. The box is sturdy and of a reasonable size. If you have a serious rat problem you might want to consider the larger boxes that this company produces, but there is a raised section in the middle which could accommodate a trap if needed. Neat external mount for the key, but personally I would keep it separately somewhere safe. The poison provided seems to be on a par with the Big Cheese brand, so not the highest strength but good for the money.

The bait box was locked.A red key is provided to open the box - mine was tucked inside the bait box. There is also a sealed bag of blue bait blocks in the box. I've used this type of bait blocks before.Just thread the block(s) onto the metal skewer and hang teh skewer in the box. The blocks have a centre hole that is just smaller than the skewer. Using gloves (not provided), I just poke the skewer through the hole in the block. Although easy to thread on the skewer, the tight hole helps to keep the block inthe position where you want it on the skewer. This is handy if using more than one block and want to space them out a bit.Always use disposable gloves when handling the bait blocks and the bait box. This keeps the poison off your hands and also your scent away from the box. If you want a bit of enticement, spread a little peanut butter inside of the box. Forget cheese for rats and mice, they love peanut butter better!

I have been using various strategies over the years to deal with rodent problems. Simply leaving Difnacoum bait in a box is not always going to work.An animal which has taken Difnacoum is most likely to stay in its nest. This means that its body will not need to be collected up for disposal and is less likely to be consumed by other species.Animals need to consume a relatively large amount of Difnacoum compared with, for example, Brodifacoum so may need to feed several times. Additionally, resistance to Difnacoum is an issue in some parts of the UK.It is possible, therefore, that this rodent killer will not achieve the desired results.On the plus side, this bait box is very easy to use (once you've managed to unlock the lid) and the contents are inaccessible to most pets.

If you live on an old housing estate or a farm rats and mice, even grey squirrels can be a problem and at present it does seem to be getting worse. Consequently we are deploying a range of measures to combat the problem. This trap is one of those measures and it is already been successful with multiple events. We are also using ultrasonic devices although these take time to be effective. We have had less success with the high voltage electronic traps perhaps because the vermin sense the danger and steer clear. These bait boxes being benign are having a better impact.

This bait box is well designed with a "key" to allow access. It comes with a bage of bait blocks that thread onto a metal bar in the box. The active ingredient is known to be effective. When placed in a rat run, it will eventually get some interest (rats are suspicious of new things in their environment). The plastic box is reasonably sturdy and will last for some time. My only criticism is that the bait blocks have too small a hole for the metal rod, meanining that you need to use some force to push it through. Otherwise, it should prove to be effective over time.

Live in a very rural area with farms, there's a bit of a rodent problem so thought I'd order this to see if it works. I've placed it outside so now waiting to see if they start to dissappear. Was very easy to set up and is safe and secure.
