Must have for hobbyist and competitive athletes
I’ve been training gi and no gi for close to 2 years and this manual has not only polished my fundamentals game, but also has elevated my understanding of the mechanics of Jiu Jitsu. Its covers everything from standup, to heel hooks, to guard retention. The No Gi manual is a must have if you are serious about stepping up your game, specially if you are one of the elite 100 chosen to battle the one gorilla. A big plus is Miha’s writing; his combination of succinct, easy to understand explanations with witty commentary make the reading surprisingly fun for a martial arts manual. 10/10.

A practical guide
The framework in this book is excellent—clear, organized, and easy to follow. Miha does a great job illustrating different techniques in a way that makes them accessible, even for someone new to the sport. As a novice jiu jitsu practitioner, I found this to be a valuable tool in helping me understand not just the movements, but the why behind them. Highly recommend for anyone starting out or looking to strengthen their fundamentals in no-gi.

High quality paper, binding, photos and writing!
If you're hesitant on purchasing this book, go and listen to Jocko's podcast with the author, Miha. Within the first half-hour, any concerns you had on the quality of this book would disappear. Miha is a well spoken, educated and intelligent person who's expertise is evident throughout the book. His ability to break down complex techniques into easy-to-follow steps is impressive. What truly sets this manual apart, though, is his engaging writing style. Not only is the content top-notch, but Miha also infuses the guide with quick-witted humor. To attest to his sense of dry and short humor, he recently addressed any potential CJI judging complaints by stating, “If you have complaints about my judging, I would love to hear them. To send one, buy my best-selling book, tear out the first page, write down your complaints and send it to me. If you have multiple complaints, I'd love to hear them. Buy another copy of the book and repeat the cycle until you hear back from me...” This cheeky comment is a great example of the type of wit Miha provides and makes the learning experience all the more enjoyable.I am one of those butt scooters who had some concerns about the -80kg finals match and took this obviously sarcastic comment to heart. Due to so much frustration, this will be my fourth time buying the book! The high quality of the paper and print makes it very easy to take notes, tear out, fold, and mail it to Legion! So far I have yet to get a response, but I hear Miha is already so busy with inquiries on seminars, how to be an expert judge, and even working on another book. Maybe I'll just have to attend his next seminar to air my complaints.

Book and video combination covers breadth and depth
I love reading and Perhavec's writing style and humor are clear, to-the-point, and entertaining. Something I'm always worried about is that buying a book on jiu-jitsu is silly, because you need to practice on people to get better. While there's some truth to this, I do think having a roadmap of jiu-jitsu and a theoretical understanding can make the practice part more focused, efficient, and organized. This book makes this transition from theory to practice really easy because of the way it is structured and written. For example, I've often encountered descriptions of takedowns that go into painstaking detail and the million situations in which you may use the takedown in question and ended up overwhelmed. In this book, the author will immediately let you know the ideal grips and requirements, mention some alternative grips, then get straight to the point. This made it easier for me to create a road map of what to do depending on the grips opponents will let me get. What I like most about this book is that it goes over many things relatively fast, allowing you to get a good overview, but when you require more details you can go deep by watching the videos.

Probably the most solid no-gi jiu jitsu instructional I've seen in my 17 years of grappling
This instructional manual is exceptionally comprehensive, breaking down techniques into clear, digestible steps that are easy to understand. It flows naturally and reads more smoothly than many other instructional books I've encountered. The engaging cadence makes it easy to stay absorbed. Having trained extensively with the author, Miha, I wasn't surprised by the depth of knowledge presented here—he's a formidable presence on the mats. However, I've also trained with many skilled practitioners who, despite their prowess in jiu jitsu, struggle to break down techniques as effectively as Miha does in this manual. As a black belt in Jiu Jitsu, I believe this book offers tremendous value, whether you're just beginning your journey or have many years of experience. The insights within these pages are invaluable!

A Modern Classic for No-Gi Grappling
This book feels like Jiu Jitsu University by Saulo Ribeiro, but updated for the modern no-gi era. Even as a black belt, I gained valuable insights into fundamental positions. It’s a resource I reference regularly when teaching my students. Additionally, the supplemental materials, like video breakdowns, additional courses, and other materials, add tremendous value. Absolutely worth the price. Great work, Miha!

One of the better books on Submission Grappling on the market today
Miha wrote one of the most comprehensive, yet easy to follow books on No Gi Jiu Jitsu. I highly recommend it. The conceptual breakdown of each position is worth the price alone. This is not a book full of random subs. You will definitely learn something from this book regardless of your skill level.

VERY happy with this purchase
I have been training jiu jitsu for over 10 years and recently ordered this book. The way that Miha clearly describes basic concepts is perfect for a beginner, but he has an amazing ability to break down even the more advanced techniques (including leg locks) that can benefit any practitioner, whether they are new or a veteran trainer, a competitor or simple hobbiest. I also appreciate the number of photos so that you can actual visualize the techniques rather than just having to imagine what they look like. All in all, would highly recommend.
