Saw it in Boston!
We went for a weekend in Boston and I saw this tea but passed on buying it so I wouldn't have to carry it the rest of the Freedom Trail. While it's made out of cocoa shells the taste is delicate and only slightly reminiscent of chocolate. This is not a "chocolate tea"; rather, it is very similar to an herbal tea with an aroma and aftertaste that means toward dark cocoa.

Delicious!
I am in love with this tea. It tastes just like hot chocolate. The texture and mouth feel is like any other tea; don't expect that this will be velvety and thick like cocoa or drinking chocolate. The tin is beautiful; I love having it out in the kitchen. As a history buff, I could not pass by the Washington connection. Will definitely buy more Oliver Pluff!

More coffee than tea/chocolate flavor
First off, I am not a fan of tea or coffee, so keep that in mind. For a tea though, this has a nice flavor. I bought the tin after reading negative reviews on the larger bags. On opening the tin, I immediately smelled a slight chocolate scent but more of coffee aroma. When steeped, the flavor is definitely more on the coffee side. Maybe this is due to the length of time roasting. I purchased a bag from a craft chocolate company to compare, and the Oliver Pluff shells are definitely darker, like a dull, dark brown, where the other brand is light and medium red-browns. The Oliver Pluff aroma is very much coffee, where the other brand is more chocolate and no coffee scent.

Great nighttime tea.
This is a great alternative to traditional herbal teas. It is great with a little cinnamon and raw sugar.

Meh. Not impressed.
I really wanted to like this, but it didn't taste like chocolate at all. I wouldn't buy it again.

Why haven't I heard of Cacao Tea sooner?!
This stuff is so tasty. If you're trying to be good about lowering your sugar intake, but still want hot chocolate, this is the stuff for you. Full of flavour, and I have found that if you add a bit of heavy cream and a few drops of vanilla stevia drops, it's practically hot chocolate. My partner and I are both fans!

Oh, so good!
You have to taste this to believe it. Add a little cream to the cup and it is halot like hoy chocolate. Add just a little to any tea or tea blend and get a wonderful chocolate undertone. I have stopped looking for a good chocolate tea because I can add a bit of this to any tea for a wonderful variety of flavors.
