I bought these to use on the range. They fit fine in a 9mm pistol or a 223 rifle. Mind you the bolt needs to be closed on the chamber flag to keep it in place. Cheap enough that I can give one away if someone at the range needs one, and very visible with the flag attached. Good item and great price.

I really like how stable, bright, and visible these chamber flags are. The flag fabric is thick and seems robust. They work very well for any firearm that has a bolt or slide that can stay partially open or hold the flag in place (like a semi-auto rifle bolt or pistol slide). However, these flags generally don't work for firearms with an action that can't hold the flag in place (e.g., bolt-action). It does work for some .22lr bolt-actions, though, as long as the chamber opening is big enough to put the flag in and small enough to hold it.

You install these in your pistol chamber and it doesn't leave any doubt on whether it's in there or not. If you choose to put the end in your barrel instead of in the mag well, I cut off about an inch of the tail because it almost comes out the end of the barrel. Good problem to have. I ended up letting a friend have a couple of these since I don't own 12 pistols.

I love these things. I'm a Range Safety Officer and when we call the range cold we VERIFY that every firearm is unloaded. Chamber flags make that very easy to do. I've purchased these, or similar 2 or times because I keep giving them away. Shooters appreciate it but it's an inexpensive way to make my job a lot simpler and the range a safer place. These particular flags are my favorites since they are pretty much a universal fit (except for many .22 firearms) and they are highly visible.

I bought these as some ranges around me require the usage of chamber flags and I didn't want to have to borrow any. The chamber insert itself is solid and easy to insert and remove as necessary. The very reflective flag is very attention grabbing and you're able to tell at a glance that a chamber is safe.

There aren't any moving parts, so it's not like it has any function, but for the money they are great. They're bright yellowish/green, and hard to miss. That's the point. I 3D print my own magazine chamber flags, and I attach these flags to them. There's nothing wrong with the empty chamber plug it's self. I just don't use them. They last forever.
