I originally bought the Kanto TUK bookshelf speakers and was already impressed by their clarity and balanced sound. But after adding this Kanto subwoofer to the setup, I realized just how much I had been missing. What I like: This is my first experience with a sealed (non-ported) subwoofer, and the difference is immediately noticeable. The bass is tight, punchy, and extremely precise. It doesn’t overpower or feel delayed — it just fills in the low end in a way that makes everything sound more complete. Whether it's music or movies, the sub brings a new level of presence, especially for voices and ambient sounds. Visually, it matches the Kanto TUK speakers beautifully and fits right into a modern desk or media setup. I also love the automatic power-on feature. The sub detects signal input and turns itself on or off as needed, which is really convenient for daily use. Even though this newer version uses a white veneer finish instead of painted white like the original version, it has held up surprisingly well. I’ve even used it occasionally as a footrest under my desk, and it hasn’t delaminated or discolored at all. What I don’t like: Not much to complain about. I do suspect that the earlier painted finish might be more durable in the long run, but so far I haven’t had any actual issues with the newer veneer. Still, it’s something to keep in mind if you're comparing models. Helpful tips: 1. Use your computer or source device’s equalizer to fine-tune what frequencies are sent to the sub. I found that adding a little more than just the lowest lows helped dialogue and spoken audio feel fuller. 2. Try a Y adapter when connecting your audio source to the sub. It can improve signal strength and balance. 3. Experiment with both phase switch settings. Depending on your room and speaker placement, one setting might sound noticeably better than the other. Final thoughts: This subwoofer takes an already great audio setup and makes it feel complete. It’s powerful, responsive, and blends seamlessly with studio monitors like the Kanto TUKs. Whether you’re into music, movies, or just want better all-around audio, this sub is a fantastic addition.

Complemento Perfecto para mi Kanto YU6

If you buy this woofer on sale, the fit, finish, and sound are acceptable. If you paid full price, you'd be miles better off with something else (RSL speedwoofer 10e comes to mind). The claimed 38hz is accurate, but at a considerably lower DB shelf than the rest of the frequency range. So when tuning you get to choose between inaudible lows and acceptable top end, or boomy over the top loud around 60hz with an audible and strained, barely sub 40hz response. I understand it's a lower power 8", but it should be priced and marketed as such. Great for PC speakers in your kids bedroom, but deserves no place in a proper hifi setting

I bought Kanto YU4 desktop speakers several years ago. They are fantastic. I figured it was time to add a bit more bass presence and had the SUB8 in my Wishlist for a while. It just went on sale so it was time to buy. Very easy to hook up and dial in the settings. It does add a bit more low end, not the floor-shaking numbness I would expect from the likes of SVS but it's decent enough for my small gaming/music/office area. The white enclosure looks great. The only fault I can give is the included RCA coax cable is very thin than what I'm used to. I plan to upgrade the cable to something more substantial and *may" improve bass level in the process. Support Canadian audio makers and get this, especially if on sale!

Fast delivery! Product arrived 6 days ahead of schedule . A nice little addition to my Audioengine A5+ speakers. Used mostly for listening to music and partially for home theatre. The difference in sound is beyond what I was expecting. It’s probably a bit overkill for my the modest 5” drivers on my speakers, but if I ever feel like making the windows on my house rattle and pissing off my neighbours, the opportunity is all there. I set the crossover frequency at 70 (10hz higher than the frequency response of my speakers) and the volume is set to a mere 25%. This is plenty of power for me in my 18x11 living room. I’ve always valued good sound quality, and I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to realize what I’ve been missing without the addition of a sub. One warning for any potential buyers is to check the outputs on your current speakers/amp. The sub only comes with a single RCA cable to accommodate systems with a single RCA sub out. But if your system has dual L/R RCA outs, you’ll need to have a second cable to connect it properly. I had to make a quick trip to the store to pick one up after unboxing. No biggie. I love this sub!
