Vulcan Duo Storage Drawer (2-Inch)

I purchased the Pangea Audio Vulcan 5 Shelf stand in Rosenut Red and also purchased the 5.75" and 2" drawers. With the standard 7" risers I was still able to fit my Blueray player and Bluesound Node under the small drawer. The drawers are good quality and to me really complete the look of a high quality stereo stand as well as help organize all those odds and ends we stereo people collect. The top shelf of my stereo stand holds my turntable so having the small drawer right below it makes it handy for all my turntable related extras.

This drawer is made specifically for the Pangea Vulcan shelf unit. I have two 5-shelf Vulcan shelf units. I got two 2” drawers approx. a month apart. One had two manufacturing flaws, the other had one. Both flaws have been noted by other reviewers, so these are recurring issues; not just one-off cases.1. One of my drawers was poorly assembled. The sides and front were loose right out of the box. I had to partially disassemble the parts and use wood glue to stiffen the drawer frame.2. Both drawers had a more serious problem. The drawer is mounted via holes in its sheet metal frame. The flanges of this frame sit between the shelf and legs. The existing screws used to secure the shelf to the legs go through holes in this frame. Unfortunately the holes are spaced incorrectly by a tiny amount (1/16th inch?). This means that once fully tightened, the drawer binds and will not fully slide out. It stops less than halfway. This happened on BOTH of the drawers I bought. My fix was to slightly enlarge the mounting holes in the sheet metal frame. This provided enough clearance for the screws to go through without deforming the metal frame. The drawers now slide smoothly even when the shelf is fully tightened to its legs.While I now enjoy having these drawers to hold my vinyl record accessories and remote controls, the manufacturing quality control leaves a lot to be desired.

Great storage for incidentals. I may buy another for only CDs.

This is a great addition to a Vulcan rack if you need some storage space. It tucks away neat and in my case fits nicely above my disc player. I use it for remote controls and turntable accessories. I love the way it closed the gap between shelving just enough. It came with a screw loose, but I fixed that in 30 seconds. Nice purchase if you have a Vulcan rack.
