The hose cover does a great job of keeping heat inside the hose as it's supposed to. But there are 2 issues.1 - it is slightly too short. When the hose is fully extended It doesn't fully cover the couplings where the hose connects to the portable a/c and the point at which the hose connects to the window slats. We have to use wash cloths to cover those areas to prevent the heat from escaping there.2 - It is not very flexible. If you try to bend the hose at all to turn the unit to face left or right, the cover will fight you. It's kind of like having your whole arm in a cast, you aren't going to be bending your elbow until that cast comes off.Other than that, it does help quite a bit to cool the room down faster. Definitely worth the investment if you use a portable a/c often.

This product definitely helps keep the heat out. Very pleased with it.

Fine fit for our dual hose Hisense portable A/C, looks clean and appears to be effective to keep the heat from emitting through the thin hose. The room actually feels cooler especially behind the A/C. Inexpensive enhancement for portable air conditioners that works!

I had to purchase a couple portable ACs while waiting for some electrical work to be completed and reinstall the wall units. The amount of heat that comees through the exhaust vent hose was counterproductive to the cooling effect of he porable. I looked at these types of solutions, and could not believe the prices on them. This was the least expensive one I found. I ordered it and it arrived within a week. It is ridiculously overpriced, even being the cheapest one I found. It is made of an insulating material. While it can be considered flexible, it is still very stiff and unforgiving, considering the hose it has to insulate is at a weird angle and has a slight turn in it, to accomodate the room and the window and the urniture, so this thing is a royal pain just getting it on, without knocking the hose lose , as I did several times. I was almost ready to deal with the heat transfer back into the room, it was so frustrating to get on. It does not conform very well to the bends and angels of the hose. I can't understand the PRICE on these things. It seems like if it were made of something like the mylar or radiant barrier , then fused to some kind of canvas or something, it would be so much more flexible, lighter, and do the same thing as this thick, stiff thing that certainy doesn't add to the look of the whole mess. I'm going to see if I can make something better, and if I do, I'll send the company the prototype. THis is just dumb.But it did aliviate most of the rebound heat, so I gave it three stars. Reluctantly.

Good product and well made. Only concern is the strap will deteriorate in elasticity over time.
