Massive screen, ultra thin
I needed a new laptop with a big 17 inch screen for my work - working from home as a self-employed consultant. The screen is massive, clear and bright. It's powerful to cope with any number of spreadsheets, documents and presentations open at the same time as teams mams meeting and email. The one omission over my preious 15 inch laptop was a fingerprint reader for unlock. However the facail recognition unlock works well instead. Its incredibly thin -the claimed 6mm is justified. My main fear is that it could be mistaken for a table mat if I leave it on the table! I havent ventured out of the office with it yet - but i'm looking for a case that is rigid enough to protect it when travelling.

Sweet laptop let down by terrible thermals and EVO
I would love to give this a full 5 star review, like I did the original Gram. However i cant because of a single issue, thermals. When sat on the desktop with nothing running it runs at 80c which is insane. My MSI 13” laptop (that this was replacing) runs at 45c on the desktop. When doing ANYTHING the temps skyrocket to 100c and make it anything other than a laptop. I am now seriously having to decide if it’s worth keeping as temps like that shorten the life time of the device. Now for the good, and there are a lot! Weight. These devices aren’t called Gram for no reason. They are probably the lightest laptop I’ve ever come across. Even the 17” one I have can easily be lifted one handed and carried one handed. Even with the lid up! The screen, while not OLED is vibrant and clear. The VRR makes it an amazing screen for a lot of areas. Just not gaming. The Ultra 7 is a sweet little chip, even though its last years model it offers a great balance between speed, battery and performance. 1tb is ok for most things, especially since this is not a gaming laptop and with 32gb of ram your not going to run into a lot of issues with to many tabs open 🤣 However it is also severely hampered by the EVO graphics. EVO basically are trash now, due to their underperformance and lack of gaming potential. I’ve played a couple of games on here and anything even remotely heavy is pretty much impossible to play. If they’d added the ARC graphics that were on the Ultra chips it would be a no brainer win. Though potentially would have hit thermals even worse. Overall it’s not a bad laptop, just hampered by some bad design choices. If your after a work/study laptop this could be the one. Just bear in mind the high temps

Broken screen on arrival, poor packaging laptop too fragile for every day use.
I was really excited about this laptop, but my excitement turned into disappointment as soon as I unpacked it. The screen was cracked upon arrival, and I noticed a hole in the box it came in. I usually expect laptops—especially pricey ones—to have better packaging and padding for protection, but this one was poorly packed. Amazon only used a couple of loose papers as padding, which did a terrible job of safeguarding such a delicate product. I requested a return and refund immediately, as the screen also seemed too fragile for everyday use. If you plan to use this laptop for traveling to work or school, I’d recommend looking for something with a sturdier shell. Unfortunately, this one just doesn’t seem built to handle the bumps of daily life.
