I purchased this strictly for use camping with my cigar box guitar, which is fitted with a 3 gang piezo pickup. Everyone knows they can be notoriously tinny, and I had no illusions. It more than meets my intended need. The reverb is either "on" or "off", and a little too heavy for my liking, but that is less noticeable outdoors. The "clean" setting is quite quiet. The "over drive" setting is pretty crunchy, and, if you tweak the tone setting it's actually pretty sweet. For the CBG the 3rd over drive setting is not useful at all.So I plugged it into a Breedlove acoustic fitted with a stock on-board pickup with an onboard preamp that has volume & tone controls. Again, no expectations that I would have anything near useful. WOW! Clean channel is, well, clean ... and loud : ) . Over-drive isn't something I would use on an acoustic guitar anyway BUT I messed about anyway. What I found is that, if you kill the tone on both the guitar and the mini guitar amp and put it on the "worse" over drive setting, set the amp loud and keep the guitar volume down low you get a delightful electric jazz guitar tone (think Tony Mattola, Herb Ellis) that I never had available to me on an acoustic guitar. I love this thing, and I am so glad that I bought it.

This can pack quite the punch in terms of volume, and it was definitely worth my money for what it's able to do. The gain rang out my ears with the feedback it produced, but everything else is solid. It's definitely very portable too, making it real convenient if you are running sound tests on the move or anything. It performs pretty well overall, and I would definitely recommend it both as a good amp in general and for travel.
