Perfect for providing cooking space & shade.
So easy for a beginner to use. I bought a 17 x 10 tarp to run from the roof of my SUV (secured with suction cups to the roof and running over the top of the tent to a 2nd higher set 8’ telescoping poles and stretching out the remaining tarp and staking it with ropes to the ground). This set up requires (6) telescoping tent poles. Without the rain tarp, if you’re in a dry, sunny climate you can attach the tent to the side of your car with the set of two poles that come with it. I felt the tent alone would not be protective from the rain where I car camp. It took a lot of experimenting to come up with the layout I wanted that included a protective rain & wind tarp. I didn’t find attaching it to the hatch door a good option. It sort of works for our other car (a Kia Soul) but that is a one-person car camping use only.

Works Great
I bought the Geertop Awning to create a usable work/cooking space in the back of my 2002 GMC Yukon. I'm not an experienced camper but a touring musician who was looking for overnighting alternatives to hotel rooms. I totally disagree with some of the negative reviews I've read about it, and I feel that for the price it's a great awning that did exactly what I wanted it to do. My only complaint is that it doesn't come with very good instructions, so it took a minute to figure out how to set it up the first time. But after the first time I was easily able to set it up and put it in place by myself (Although on a windy day this did prove challenging!) Also, people have commented that it doesn't come with tent poles, so I bought a pole kit only to find that it does in fact come with poles. I did, however, use the extra set of tent poles to prop up the zipper on side piece to create additional "under roof" space. It rained the first time I used it and it did exactly what I wanted it to do which was to keep me and all my cooking gear dry and out of the weather. I've used it now several times and I really like it. I don't think the negative reviews make a lot of sense unless previous versions weren't as good. (Got mine September of 2023)

Don’t waste time or money
Received a previously used product with dirt and pet hair included. I’m not sure if we were missing a part/pole but this had to be adjusted and improved(leaned it against a pop up canopy tent and bungee corded) in order for it to stay standing. Poor anchoring features.

Finally found the perfect shade awning !!!
After trying to others and returning them, this is the best. I've been looking for one for my tear drop nucamp. The quality is unbelievable. The shade poles for the roof are top quality, the ropes and tie downs top quality the suction cups are a nice added feature for extra security. The tie down spikes top quality. The zip on side flap is perfect. I just tested it in 16 mph winds and the driveway and set it up easily myself and I am over 50 and a woman. This is by far the best awning and the rest were garbage. The price is perfect. I chose not to get the package with the poles, as I wanted green elephant poles for other things as well so I purchased them. But most impressed with the quality, price, and functionality for my teardrop. Go get you one forget the others

Great product, withstand crazy weather
We put this baby to the test. We went camping over the weekend and the weather was less than ideal. Cold, rainy, and super high winds. We have our Tesla and attached this to the side door. I was skeptical this would hold up, but it sure did. So glad we got this. Unlike other product we've bought in the past, I'm glad to rep that this withstood the crazy conditions and came home with us in one piece! It’s super easy to set-up. Together, it took us less than 5 minutes. It’s helpful to have two people setting it up but not entirely necessary - I could’ve done it on my own. Also, we don’t have sun shades on our van so it provided some much-needed light blocking to the windows. This will be great to use in the summer to block the sun. Overall, great buy. Would definitely recommend!

Eh, it’s ok
This set-up is ok. The suction cups are one time use- they come very very sticky and are fantastic the first time. But after that, they continually fall off because the sticky is used. The actual suction cup does not work (even washes it with gentle soap and water to make it reapply). The straps from the suction cup to the fender clip are also too long, so the fender clip kept fall off. I had to use rope and stakes to make my tent stay. Once set up, it did work as advertised. I had a nice homey space, the pockets were nice to have. A complaint I do have is the poles do not have a way to secure into the ground so that ended up flimsy too. I really relied on rope and steaks to keep this in place. I would not have faith in the tent if it was windy. Also to note, the poles do not come in the original bag (they’re separate), and good luck packing the tent back into the original bag once you’ve attached the fender clips, suction cups, and ropes. It’s a hassle to carry tent, steaks, and poles because they don’t all fit in one bag- makes it easy to forget something. I would not buy again

The best one I have so far
I have 3 different suv tents that I use with my tiny camper. I love my other Kelty backroads but it is Hot! in sun and warm weather. This one is lightweight, the white parts keep it cooler and the suction cups need to be pryed off they stick so well. It is also the easiest to set up and went through a very hard down pour here in Florida and stayed dry inside. The zipper wall is easy to attach, I only with it came with a second one. I clamped a tarp on the other side during the downpour. The back wall is also great. Like people have complained, you do need your own poles, but I have a selection of poles and it is nice to not pay extra to get poles I won't use anyway.

No poles
If it doesn't include the aluminum poles then take it out of the description on the photo section. I receive mine today and have a look up the product again and then saw where you have it written elsewhere. I was disappointed.
