No more dead frets
Amazing fret tool fits small medium and large frets great well designed and fits the hand well. Quickly removes material but doesn't leave and overly gouged finish.

Works on par with price
I chose this tool because it seemed to be the best economical fret crowning file on Amazon. So far, I have used it to crown 2 fretboards and I don’t think it is wearing out at all (I saw a review that said the “diamond” teeth break away?). I haven’t used other fret crowning files so I have nothing to judge this against aside from what I’ve seen on YouTube, but I imagine the more costly files are a bit easier to use all around. This file cuts better with a little force, at the right angles, it takes some getting used to, and I noticed a bit difference from the front/middle/back of the file length. I tried my best to keep my filing to the middle section of the tool, which required me to file from both sides of the fretboard. Also, to get a good crown for the medium jumbo frets on my LP junior, I had to hold the file a bit sideways and attack the fret one side at a time, instead of just going over the entire fret like I imagine a proper fret crowning file should. On both necks I used this on so far, I took my sharpie line down to what my eye thought was a very thin hair of a line, but after polishing with 600/800 grit sandpaper and fret erasers, I noticed the crown of all the frets are at least twice as wide as what they appeared to be with my sharpie line. For the money, this tool works well if you have patience figuring out what it can and cant do. Side note, the ferrel fell off when I unboxed it. No biggie, it’s just decorative anyway. I’d definitely recommend this if you are keeping a super tight budget. There are so many luthier tools out there.

Nicely made tool - works well
Nice to have 3 different sizes. I used this to rehab a Fender Thinline Telecaster (thin frets), and an old 80's era Washburn HB30 semi-hollowbody, with medium frets. The file could have a bit of a finer tooth to the abrasives, but it does knock down wear marks in frets very nicely and gradually. And, it does not contact the fret board (you should tape the wood of the fretboard, and tape the pickups so metal doesn't stick to the magnets). The wood handle is nicely shaped and provides good grip and allows you to work the file with a light or heavy touch. Spend the extra cash for this tool over the cheaper versions, it's money well spent, for this thing will never ever wear out! It's a lifetime tool.

Feels expensive. Solid, and skillfully crafted tool
Been playing guitar for about 28 years and used to have a guitar tech that would setup my guitars. The last few years I have been getting more into DIY setup and repairs. I spent several months investigating tools needed to accomplish a fret leveling and crowning and read hundreds of reviews on dozens of products ranging from a price point of about $5, up to the low $100's. This fret crowning tool is priced right at the sweet spot of getting much more than you pay for. The metal used is super solid, and dense, and has some serious weight to it, which in my opinion, makes it feel very high quality. The crowning areas are very well machined and hold up very nicely during and after use. The handle is also very solid, and is attached to the file nice and tight, there is no play, or looseness at all. Definitely recommend this. I got this during amazon prime day for about $23 which was the lowest price I have ever seen it at.

It Was difficult for me to use
This file will do 3 different size size frets. I found it necessary to mark the one I needed with a marker. Keep in mind that this was my first fret job so I was probably the one with issues. The file cut very well but it seemed that the diamond cutting surface wore down towards the end of the shaft before I was finished. The file would didn't seem to want to stay with the fret and jump off. Again, I probably had more to do with that than the file itself. Overall, the job got done and it turned out better than I expected.

Fair value
It performs as described. I would like slightly more aggressive teeth.

I purchased this file to finish off my fret work when crowning and levelling the frets on my acoustic guitars. The other file I had purchased was supposed to file the sides and leave some work on top of the fret for this file. Unfortunately the other file was not usable due to it's poor design. So since I only had this file to work with I decided to try a few frets high on the neck to see if it would work. Happily it worked great, the file is very sharp and quickly took the sides down with very little pressure allowing me to leave a very thin fret center. I crowned two acoustic guitars using this file and it is still cutting great so I expect years of use remaining, highly recommend, it's all you really need in a fret crowning file.

The first thing that I noticed is that it has some good weight to it. Very happy that this is not some hollow piece that is made from some cheap pot metal, this is really nice quality. For the guys and gals just getting into doing some fret work you will 100% need to also get a fret rocker, a leveling beam, some green masking tape and either fret erasers or nail buffing blocks ( I use the blocks because they are cheap AF and work soooooo well ) I would also recommend watching a good amount of youtube tutorials to make sure you are comfortable doing this on your own.

IT DOES NOT FIX FRET END / FRET SPROUT IT'S ONLY FOR TOP OF THE FRET IN ORDER TO LOWER THE FRETS DOWN. Good and simple but not what I need...

It's ok, scratches the hell out of the frets.
