Amazing Flavour!
I was looking for this everywhere and couldn't find it. I first tried it through a Hello Fresh recipe and loved it so needed to find it so I could make the sauce again. This is exactly the same, possibly a bit tastier and is a joy to cook with.

Nothing else quite like ketjap manis to my knowledge
Another staple in my kitchen for Indonesian cooking, and controversially maybe, Chinese too. For the initiated, ketjap could be described as a coming together of dark soy and black treacle, say 4:1 in flavour and consistency. Nothing else is quite like it. Sweeter and thicker than dark soy with no substitutes to my knowledge, though I haven't tried the dark soy with treacle concept funilly enough...
