The mortar and pestle set is great. The 1.5 cup size is prefect for my needs. I've used smooth marble versions and have never achieved a fine grind. Be sure to cure the mortar it is easy and the mortar dries so fast. I appreciate the small recipe book, not so much for the order of addition of various ingredients. I look forward to many years of use.

This mortar and pestle set is great! I read the reviews of several different sets before I placed an order. This set did not disappoint. It is very heavy granite so it does not slide around or tip over while your are using it. I cured it by grinding uncooked white rice until no gray dust appeared. The mortar comes with a little cushion to apply to the bottom so it doesn't move around and scratch your counter tops.
