We own a 2022 Ford Expedition. For summer vacations we have been renting an Expedition Max or Suburban for extra packing room. Car rental has gone up quite a bit, so I was thinking of maybe just renting a small trailer. Then I saw this idea. This carrier had good ratings and I liked that the license plate could be mounted on the back AND lights were included in the back to extend the rear lights... including braking and blinker. Assembly was straight forward, and installation into hitch receiver was possible for one person, but 2 is better... not so much for heavy weight, but getting the hitch receiver hole lined up to put lockable pin in (included with the product). We had 2 large, 3 medium, 1 small suitcase, 3 box fans, in addition to stacking small boxes, sacks, fishing poles (3) and fishing gear in the carrier. It definitely made our Expedition into a Max version and comfortably let us carry enough for 4 adults and 2 kids on a vacation. High rating for quality, engineering, well thought out functionality, sturdy frame and thick canvass bag to protect contents from weather.

This was the best purchase for our family vacation! Easy assembly and handled all of our luggage, plus more. It was not heavy; didn't even notice it while driving, and it was sleek behind my car and did not stand out. It handled rain, sunshine, and salt (from the beach!). Worth the money and I highly recommend.

We are very happy with this carrier. The size could easily accomodate luggage for 4 people and a cooler on our upcoming vacation and is very well built. After assembly, we did have a small issue with the carrier setting level on our Toyota Tundra. We contacted the manufacturer directly and could not have been more satisfied with their service. They corrected the issue quickly and politely. The extra money spent to purchase a kit with lights and other accessories is worth it, in our opinion. Assembly can be done with one person, but two is easier when it comes to actually handling the carrier & placing on the hitch.

We put this on a 17 highlander.It is sturdy and does not move.We had 2 large full coolers and camp chairs tied in.It took 2 of us to assemble but went fairly easy,needed a little you tube help.Wiring the taillights was a little fussy but once done,they worked .I feel like the actual taillights were a little jiggly on the frame so I twist tied some wire around to secure them tightly.The sides fold down which is handy for packing and the back gate folds in a bit so easy to store on its side.This is our only experience with a cargo rack and this was purchased after a lot of research.Met our expectations.Will update review if something goes amiss.

I am very happy with this product. It is exactly what I wanted for my Jeep. I had some difficulties installing it; however, with Mockins' fast and easy support, it was resolved quickly. The cargo basket is high quality and ready to go on some adventures. Thank you Mockins for producing a fantastic product and excellent customer service.

So came pretty fast, me and my brother put it together. Build quilty is good, but few things should be checked or changed: for example one screw hole was small I had to use drill to make it bigger for screw. Second latch , the bigger one should be longer for about another 1 centimeter. Latch on the other side was sitting to far down, meaning it was not working properly had to put another nut between latch and frame. So quality control in building pretty bad. About wiring lights was not bad , easy instruction, however lights had to be zip tie they don't hold well enough. I don't get it why not it's being screwed to frame!?? Keep in mind you will need tools to screw everything and connect(Few screw drivers, wrench , wire cutters and wire stripper tool). It's pretty heavy you most likely need a second person to a touch it to your car. Folds ok no issues here. I will be testing more on few trips I have in a future if I got new updates I will post it .

The media could not be loaded. Solid construction and materials. This is a heavy and heavy duty product. Will require two people to attach to hitch. The included bags and net are well constructed. Items of concern include the latch not going through all the way (see pictures) and the taillights not secured well. They are loose after install and while I didn’t show it, we zip tied them to ensure they did not fall out while driving. The taillights connect well to the vehicle and included braking and turn signal functionality. Some of the pictures in the instruction book are dark; however, if you read the book and follow the directions assembly is straightforward. Please plan on around 3 hours to put unit together.

Very happy with this basket. Assembly was fairly easy (though I am also a mechanic by trade so take that with a grain of salt). You will need some basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdriver etc.) to assemble, but otherwise it comes with everything you need. My only complaint is that the anti-rattle clip U-bolt arrived with some damaged threads, but that was a $10 harbor-freight problem. It survived 3k miles behind a Subaru outback with no other issues and I expect to put another 3k miles on it later this year. It did make a little bit of noise going over bumps, but nothing outrageous and does change the handling of my vehicle slightly, but once again, nothing outrageous. It may obscure your rear license plate which, while legal in my state, may not be legal in yours which is why it comes with a license plate bracket. Also, this may block your backup camera, so you'll have to pretend it's 1999 and use your mirrors.
