Uniform particle size, pleasure to use.
I was wondering if I should buy it. I am new to coffee making in general and have been wondering if I should get this particular one for good 9 months. I wanted it because of the flat burrs, as my old conical one it's not that is bad but it had some thing in the grind that were a bit weird. So I bit the bullet (import price to Austria) said F it and got it. to put it shortly - I am not disappointed, on the contrary I am very vey VERY happy with what I see. very uniform grind, very quick (in comparison to my old one). Nice shape so easy to grip. And with the grinds for the coffees I made for Espresso and some Moka style I have no complains and they were very tasty. The grinder is all metal (aside from the nice wooden handle) very well build and quite sturdy. The ease of switching between grind settings is very convenient. I would have wanted if it gave the relative grind particle size instead of numbers or maybe etched that 2 = 180 microns, but that is just my engineering mind talking :D.all and all I am happy with how the grinder works and I can totally recommend it.

Just buy it!
Grinder makes fantastic espresso, end of story. It is definitely more laborious than a conical, but if you're buying a flat burr hand grinder you should know what you're getting into. Still, I'm grinding 16g of a light-medium in 40 seconds which is more than adequate. Where this grinder really shines is the espresso quality, the flat burrs allow for a brighter espresso that you can't achieve with a conical. Build quality is crazy nice, feels solid in-hane. All in all, great product.

Working man coffee snob must have
Makes me feel classy and colonial at the same time. Well engineered and can dial in the perfect grind. Plus the action helps wake me up before the caffeine hit.

Is able to extract more sweetness from light roasted beans.
The media could not be loaded. Grind quality:Feels very smoothWorks well:I am able to extract more sweetness from light roasted beans. Interesting to note: You can use a drill with it no problem. But you will lose aromatics of the coffee beans.

Inconsistent
Ended up returning this because there is not marking for coarseness level and the grind was extremely inconsistent. One shot would pull really runny, I would make a minimal adjustment and the next shot would barely drip.

One of the best hand espresso grinders
My coffee journey began about 15 years ago when I got tired of stale coffee. I have been roasting my own beans ever since. Through the years I have owned way too many coffee grinders. Manual hand grinders like this one are what I prefer. This flat burr manual grinder from CafeSing is definately one of the better grinders for espresso out there. It is not all perfect though. Here are my thoughts and experiences with the grinder as I have used it for the past week.THE GOOD- First, the grinder is VERY robust. It is built extremely well. Seriously, it is a peace of precision and heavy duty engineering. It feels like a tank and should hold up just fine under even the busiest of workloads.- Outer adjustment ring! It works well and makes adjustments so very simple and repeatable!!!- It produces a very even and clean grind. Very consistent. The espressos taste very clean and very predictable.- There is a wide range of grind adjustments which all are fine enough for espresso. Usually I start with the grind size on 2 and then I adjust a notch or two finer or coarser to dial in the shot.- The grinder is easy enough to turn.- The rubber bands around the body that are for grip can easily be removed for better aesthetics. I prefer it this way, but your taste may be different.- The bottom catch-cup is perfectly sized to dump grinds into a standard 58mm portafilter basket. So great for professionals and for the enthusiasts with high-end prosumer machines. If you are a Breville / Sage user then you will need a funnel as your baskets are only 54mm. Delonghi baskets are just 51mm! Which brings us to the first negative….THE BAD- Most home barista’s will find that the catch cup is too large to easily dump the grinds into their portafilter. Not a problem, just use a funnel if your basket is smaller than 58mm.- This flat burr grinder works best for espresso, mocha pot or Turkish coffee. It certainly can grind large enough for other brew methods but it will not do as well as other types of burrs. If you want a flatt burr for your pour-overs then get the grinder from CafeSing with the Ghost Burr.- The coffee is almost too clean tasting for my preference. There is something about the more variety of particle sizes that bring more depth to an espresso shot. For this reason, I slightly prefer some of my other grinders with a large diameter conical burr. Again, this is just a slight preference and most will find that this flat burr from Cafesing far superior for espresso than the typical grinder.- It did take a full two minutes of hand grinding for a 16 gram shot!CONCLUSIONIn the end, this is a fantastic grinder. If you need something portable to use for espressos then this is absolutely fantastic. It will do the job nicely, predictably and it should last for ever. Personally, I have mixed feelings about it. I am so glad that the CafeSing is in my arsenal of grinders but I probably will only use it occasionally like with a very light roast. Yet with light roasts, this grinder produces a shot that is clean, crisp and delicious.
