Excellent TV — Great Picture & Strong Wi-Fi Connection
I just received my new Vizio 40" Full HD Smart TV, and I’m very impressed. The picture quality is excellent — bright, clear, and sharp with vibrant colors. Setup was quick and easy, and I was especially surprised by how strong the Wi-Fi reach is. It picks up my network better than my previous TVs and streams smoothly without buffering. All of the smart features work exactly as advertised, and it truly seems to deliver everything the manufacturer claims. Overall, this TV is a great value and performs exceptionally well. I’m very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it.

Great Picture Quality and Fantastic Sound Quality (after snooping thru Audio options)
Well, Vizio pulled a fast one on me. Last week I started receiving messages whenever I turned on my 9 year old 32" Vizio, that Netflix and other apps would no longer be supported. This means only satellite TV or old fashioned antennas would result in a picture. Since I cut the cable 2 years ago, this meant the perfectly working TV would be useless to me. I gave it to a friend who wanted it as a computer monitor. Because I have another Vizio and it gives me good sound and good picture for a reasonable price I decided to order this one. Set up was very simple. Adding streaming apps was fast and there are a LOT to chose from; both free and subscription. When I tuned it to a program, I thought the sound was kind of muffled and hard to hear without increasing the volume pretty high. So I went into the settings and under Audio there are 3 options for sound quality. Factory set up was the worst (muffled) option. I chose the option that produced clear, sharp annunciation without having high volume. Because of this, it's the best sound quality of any of my 3 current TVs. Picture is great and almost no lag time when changing programs or channels. I had no trouble with inserting the feet - screws and holes lined up perfectly. I am once again very happy with my Vizio TV. As each older TV bites the dust, each will be replaced with a Vizio.

Overall great TV for the price
Pros: 1. Stunning Picture Quality: The vibrant colors and sharp resolution truly bring visuals to life. 2. Immersive Sound: The built-in speakers deliver a cinematic audio experience that enhances every scene. 3. Smart Features: The intuitive interface and seamless connectivity make navigating apps and streaming services a breeze. 4. Sleek Design: The slim and modern design of the TV adds a touch of elegance to any living space. 5. Versatile Connectivity: With multiple HDMI and USB ports, it's easy to connect all your devices. Cons: 1. Limited App Support: While the TV offers some popular apps, it lacks support for newer apps that may be important to some users. 2. Remote Control: The remote control could be more ergonomic and responsive for smoother navigation. 3. Occasional Software Glitches: Sometimes it has occasional software glitches or lags that disrupt the viewing experience. 4. Pricey Investment: The price point may be a barrier for budget-conscious consumers, although the quality justifies the cost.

Perfect!
I bought this TV for my home gym, for music and workout videos. I needed something with Bluetooth so I could stream to the workout room stereo system, and it works perfectly. The picture is beautiful for a lower resolution 40 inch screen. Another feature i just love is the ability to have the USB ports turn off with the TV because I use all Govee RGBIC lighting and didn't want to keep unplugging it. The WiFi works flawlessly and stays connected. My ONLY complaint is that the power cord is not removable. Since this TV is mounted high on the wall I wanted a 15 foot power cord for the Vizio M series TV's but I can't use it on this M series, so now I have an extension cord end about 3 feet up the wall. I do not watch actual television so I can't chime in on all the built in channels, but for my needs it's perfect.

Mostly good as long as you keep your expectations reasonable.
I saw several complaints about the sound quality, and "You'll need a soundbar or some kind of external speaker(s)", but that wasn't the case at all. The sound quality on this TV actually isn't bad at all. That was the only thing holding me back from purchasing it, so I didn't have very high hopes going in. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Not that it sounds right up there with the best or anything like that, because it doesn't and it isn't, but the average user shouldn't have any problem with the sound quality straight out of the box. The picture quality is equally as surprising. It's a 1080p TV, so don't expect mind blowing clarity, but for what it is and what it costs, it's really nice, and with all kinds of settings that I've never heard of. I actually did very little in the way of setting this thing up. I remember reading somewhere just a few days ago that Vizio TVs are factory preset to the taste of individual countries that they ship them to, and after reading that, it made sense to me why there was very little adjustment necessary. LOL I think I spent more time getting it out of the box than I did making adjustments. Setup was a breeze. It found my Wi-Fi immediately, I put my password in to get it connected, and inside of a few seconds, it was ready to go... or so I thought Naturally, the first thing it wanted to do was install a bunch of updates. Doesn't everything anymore? After downloading, installing, restarting, installing, restarting, installing, restarting, I was finally ready to do a channel scan. Yeah, I got cable TV out of my life over 20 years ago, and I haven't missed it one bit. The scan took three to four minutes and brought up like 48 channels. I'm still working on this input called Watch Free, and as near as I can tell, it's kind of a mix with your station presets and other select material probably based on those stations. In the 3+ weeks since delivery, I haven't experienced one flaw, lockup, random restart, random power down, glitch or hiccup out of it. There are a few little things about it that I'm not too thrilled about, namely the complete lack of RCA inputs, only two HDMI inputs, and when inputting channels on OTA TV using the number pad, it brings up an on-screen numberpad, but instead of intuitively hitting the center button, you have to use the arrow down to navigate to an area at the bottom of the on-screen keypad, and when you get to the correct tab, THEN hit the center button. Next, arguably the most used controls on the remote, the channel and volume keys... Why do they all now place those keys so low on the remote? Those keys are way down near the bottom to the point that you don't really have any room to hold onto the remote. The remote is also narrow, thin, short, and VERY slippery. Overall, I guess it's ok, but a universal remote is probably in my near future. As the title says, keep your expectations reasonable, and you shouldn't be disappointed. If you want a TV that performs like a $1000+ set, then go spend $1000 on a set, and you'll be just fine. As far as its current price tag of $138 is concerned, you're getting a LOT of TV for your money. EDIT: At almost two months in, I've been able to integrate it into my entertainment needs without much of any learning curve, and I'm still happy with my purchase.

Great size, great picture quality, great sound!
If you need a small TV, I recommend this one. Easy set up, great picture quality, perfect size for small spaces. We have a small apartment so we didn't want something that would make it look even smaller. It would be the perfect size for a bedroom also. The smart features made it fairly easy to set up too, even for a senior like me. It has good sound quality too. Great value for your money!

Nice tv
It’s a nice tv. I just needed a small one to have on while in my home gym. It’s easy to use and nice and loud for when I’m running. It was a good price too. I didn’t want a giant tv to take up space. This is great.

You get what you pay for
This is a prime example of "you get what you pay for". We needed a small TV to fit our small bookshelf and unfortunately this was the only one we could find in this size. On the whole, the TV more or less gets the job done, but at cost of great frustration. Pros: * it works okay most of the time, where "okay" means we only get a couple disruptions per viewing session * it is small and fits the small surface in our small home * the TV itself looks nice, the picture quality is "good enough" Cons: * it often fails to register remote control button presses completely * when it does register button presses, there's so much input lag that entering passwords or doing keyword search will make you crazy, even navigating apps using just the directional buttons is so laggy and disjointed that you're often unclear as to whether or not your button press registered * internet connectivity is horrible - we have it on wifi, right next to the 5G router, and it routinely drops connectivity, buffers and errors * several streaming apps perform terribly - Paramount+ is particularly bad - glitchy, not loading completely, erroring, painfully slow. While this could be a software issue with the apps themselves, I suspect the platform the apps are running on is a major factor. * it lacks support for a whole bunch of streaming apps that I regularly use - you'll get the big ones of course (Netflix, Hulu, Paramount+, HBO), but if you're into anything even slightly niche there's a good chance it won't be available * it doesn't register screen mirroring as valid input so it eventually auto shuts off and I have yet to find a way to disable this feature anywhere in the settings (this could be more of a me problem admittedly, but regardless it's not straightforward or obvious) * while this is more of a quibble than a serious issue, it appears to lack any physical buttons whatsoever including an on/off button, this means if you lose the remove the only way to turn it off is to unplug it from the wall (and then no idea how you'd turn it back on without buying a remote replacement) This review isn't comparing a 129-ish dollar TV to a high end one, our living room TV is a cheap/lower end TCL from several years ago, and this Vizio makes our TCL look like a dream machine - no laggy inputs, smooth scrolling, apps load and run just fine, no random internet drops and wide variety of streaming apps (including niche ones) available. TLDR - this TV is not worth it unless it's literally all you can afford or you have a need for an extremely small TV. It will mostly get the job done most of the time, but expect a poor and often frustrating experience.
