I’m new to Orthodoxy (& relatively new to Christianity in general). I ordered this because I heard one can wear the chotki (as opposed to something like a rosary). I was looking for something lightweight and simple to wear that would aid me in my prayers as well as help me to feel safer & closer to God. It’s quite lovely—the color is vibrant, and it seems sturdy and well made so far—but it’s very small. My wrists and hands are small-average size for an adult woman and I have to roll it on with some difficulty. I imagine most adults wouldn’t be able to actually wear it. Forgive me if wearing it isn’t the purpose; but as I said, that’s what I was told. I also don’t know if specific colors are used traditionally, but I love that they offered this red shade (which I chose to represent the blood of Christ). It’s certainly worth the price and I absolutely recommend it—especially to anyone on a budget or needing it fast. That said, I’d still like to purchase a 33/50 prayer rope that has been handcrafted and prayed over at some point in the near future.

I got this for my daughter to have for church camp. All the girls in her cabin loved it and so did she. It’s the perfect size and a really pretty color and it holds up really well.

Very nice to see something like this that was made in a monastery and not in a Chinese factory.

It fits in the palm of my hand, maybe it would be ideal if this was marketed as a bracelet for a small child, not a prayer rope for praying. I will make do with it until I can get a new one.

Still wearing months later! This thing has stood up to wear better than I thought. Granted I don't work a manual job, but I have been wearing it every day for months and it's holding up. I bought thinking I'd need to replace it every three months, and am happy to be wrong. Also it's a great reminder every day of the price of my sins and God's value he placed on my redemption. Could cry writing that.
