This is a good electric carving knife!
Our retro (olive green) Sunbeam electric knife, which belonged to my grandparents, finally became so dull that it was hacking the meat instead of slicing it. I could not locate the proper replacement blades and do not actually know if they exist. I doubt it since there is no common thread on the internet about replacement blades. I began my search for a replacement on Amazon of course. Getting right to the meat of the review, my initial thought is The Knife Is Good! After all, electric knife technology has not changed in 30 years. Companies know how to make a reliable product by now. The handle feels well made of good quality plastic. It does not feel cheap or flimsy. My previous knife had a handle with an on/off button. This new knife is gripped in your hand and controlled with a similar power button. The big question is...is the knife body too large for small hands? I asked my wife, who is petite, if the knife was "too fat" to hold comfortably. She tried the knife and said it was not too bulky. It was not even something she would have thought about unless I asked. The motor is not loud and the blades cut smoothly. I was able to cut thin slices of turkey, even though the bird was a little dry...which can make thin slicing a bit more difficult. In summary the quality appears to be quite good. The knife cuts nicely. The cord is flexible and long enough. Clean-up is simple. The plastic storage case is a little small. I had to really take my time and fold in the power cord to get the lid to close. I would not hesitate to recommend this electric carving knife. Oh, there is a fork included in the box. I thought it may be a cheap add-on item but it turned out to be a nice fork to hold a roast or bird while you slice the meat.

A Bargain Winner!
This knife has been a stellar performer. I did a lot of investigating when I was looking for an electric knife about 1-year ago. I could not find one that I was really confident it purchasing. They all seemed to have positive reviews and then also a significant number of negative reviews. I decided to go with this one due to the low investment while at the same time hoping I would have a positive experience like some of the other buyers of this item. After nearly a year with it, I can heartily give it a 5-star rating. It has worked perfectly with absolutely no problems. I have rigorously followed the advice that another evaluator gave - never run the knife "in the air." What I mean is, I always have the blades against the meat before I start it up. That way the blades are always under a load when running and this may prevent some of the issues others have reported with this knife. Always clean it well after use and make sure it is completely dry before storing it away.

I will never slice with a stationary knife again :)
My whole family loves a good prime rib roast smoked on a Traeger. And since we enjoy it fairly often, I knew I needed to find an incredible fast and simple way to dish it out...Compact case neatly stores everything*It is very compact and can keep everything needed together. As long as the cord is wrapped compactly as well, it all fits inperfectly.Easily carves meats and slices breads*It has made slicing our meat and anything else a whole lot easier! I have had no problem whatsoever with its ability to slicenice, smooth pieces, so I am guessing those who have commented on it crushing the meat have had a defective one.Stainless steel blades and carving fork*I love that it comes with a carving fork as I did not have one myself. The blades are nice and strong and clean up well with aquick and simple hand-wash, which I would recommend. It has a blade-release button and the blades come out effortlesslyand detach from each other just as easily.I have used it on bread also and it works just as well.My only minor con would be the weight. It's not too heavy, but when I'm slicing a large cut of meat, my hand can get a little tired holding it and I'll take a couple short breaks to stretch my fingers and wrist.Overall, I would recommend this to avid meat eaters as well as anyone who has the need to slice more than a few slices of anything!

Electric cutty cutty works
We ordered this product to arrive before the Thanksgiving holiday. It performed as expected out of the box on the family turkey and longevity is yet to be seen but so far, so good. In all honesty, it's a cheap electric knife that does what it's supposed to do and we have no illusion it will last forever. There is blade release button that has been far removed to a different place than as a secondary part of the trigger lever that we had on the other electric knife (that lasted at least 3 years) we had in the past and that's a welcome change. If we get 3 years use of it with bread, meat and various other intended electric cutting tasks, it seems it should be a good, valuable product that meets or exceeds the expectation of the price we paid.

Smooth-cutting and fast!
I read a lot of reviews in making this purchase. Since I wanted a knife that cut well, this seemed to have the best reviews and I agree. I carved the Christmas turkey and ham with no effort. While there were complaints about the positioning of the blade release button, I don't see a problem here since for me, I don't get the hand in which I hold the knife greasy. It says on the knife and thus stays nice and dry for a firm hold throughout my cuts. While I did not get tired of holding the button I could see where one might tire from holding the blade trigger the whole time - but it's a nice safety in that if you let go of it the blades stop. While I forget the brand of my old electric knife, I like this one much better and am very happy with its performance.
