This is a great kit! I used this to make an iced matcha latte and found the flavor to be good and liked that they include the straws so that you can add tapioca and other toppings. I also used the strawberry popping bubbles and really enjoyed.

This pack comes with everything you need for quality thai tea. Do not recommend using whole milk as it will be too watery and would steep the tea longer. Easy to make and boba has good texture but also needs to be sweetened.

This kit comes with just about everything you need. It has the tea, boba pearls, and straws perfect for boba. You will just need your own cups and cooking supplies. There's enough here to make it a few to several times depending on how much you're making per batch. I think we got 4-5 decent size batches out of this kit. We never got it quite at the same consistency as the boba shops we like locally but it did turn out relatively well for making it at home. With a bit more practice and patience, I think we can do better. We tried a couple different soaking solutions with honey and brown sugar. Both worked pretty well since it also helped sweeten the tea. We also liked that this tea is good with milk.What I liked about it: Great taste. Comes with most of what you need.What I didn't like: It's hard to get cooked boba right.Overall, we recommend this kit!

Tapioca pearls in this kit are the worst! Gritty and just plain gross.

I've always been a huge fan of boba tea, and this Matcha Powder Boba Tea Kit has taken my daily tea ritual to a whole new level of yum! From the moment I opened the package, I was impressed with the quality of the contents. The matcha powder is bursting with a fresh, earthy flavor that's just a delight. The kit also comes with boba pearls, which are easy to cook and have that perfect chewy texture. The instructions provided were clear and simple, which made the whole preparation process a breeze.

This is a Thai iced tea boba kit from Locca Boba that says it makes 8 servings. This kit includes a bag of uncooked tapioca pearls, a bag of Thai tea, and 8 boba tea straws. I have to say I'm really torn on this one, because the end result, i.e. the glasses of boba Thai iced tea, is really good. There are two major problems with the kit versus what the description says. They are: (1) "includes everything you need for a perfect boba tea experience", and (2) "fun for Kids and Parties...fun and safe for children to use, making it an excellent choice for family activities or hosting your own boba party kit at home".Addressing the first issue, this kit does not in fact include everything you need. It does not include directions, you have to go to the company website and find them. In fact, I had to pull up THREE separate pages on the company website to prepare this kit. The instructions for cooking the boba, the simple syrup, and the Thai tea were each on a separate page. I would note that there is a slip inside the box thanking you for allowing them to use less paper by having the recipes on the website. And yet there is shredded paper inside the box and the slip is printed on paper, not to mention the fact that the boba and tea are in plastic and each of the 8 straws are individually wrapped in plastic. So don't tell me you're trying to save paper, while giving me a box chock full of plastic. Another thing that is not included in the kit, you need simple syrup to make the boba tea, and this kit does not include either a bottle of simple syrup or a packet of sugar so you can make your own simple syrup. It's a vital part of the (non-included) recipe, so they can't say the kit "includes everything" when it leaves out a required item. Milk is also needed but not included, but I'm not going to call them out on that, despite the existence of shelf-stable milk.As to the second issue, the claim about it being fun for parties and suitable for children to make...it's just not. The completed drink is, sure, absolutely. But the kit, no. As far as hosting a boba party, you'd better have already prepared everything or you're going to have a long haul before the payoff of having a boba drink. Start to finish, preparing boba tea using this kit takes a MINIMUM of an hour and fifteen minutes. And being safe and fun for kids? Sure, every kid I know loves standing over a hot stove for 35 minutes stirring tapioca pearls so they don't clump. :-\ And let's not forget the boiling hot sugar syrup and boiling hot tea, those are big fun for kids. The tapioca pearls have to be cooked 35 minutes, stirring every couple of minutes, then they have to sit for another 20 minutes with the lid on and the heat off. Then they have to be drained and thoroughly rinsed in a colander. And then they have to sit in the sugar syrup for 10 minutes before serving, and if you don't serve them all during the first hour, you have to stir them every hour. All of the stirring of boiling hot liquids just doesn't scream "fun for kids". And the amount of time it takes to prepare this kit really doesn't scream fun for anybody.As I understand it, pre-cooked, shelf stable tapioca pearls exist. That is what this kit should include, if the company wants to say it's fun for parties and safe for kids. Ideally it should also include a bottle of premade sugar syrup, or at least a packet with a cup of sugar. And for goodness sake, put the directions inside the box, not everybody wants to use the internet in their kitchen. It's ridiculous.All of this said, the Thai boba iced tea this kit makes is really yummy. The tea is perfect, the boba are chewy and fun. If I was only rating the flavor, it would be 5 stars. But I'm rating the kit which is sorely lacking. I prepared half the kit because I was only making two drinks, so I still had half the boba and half the packet of tea left over. I decided I did not want to go through the hour-plus ordeal of preparing the boba again, so I threw the rest of the package away. We will enjoy the rest of the Thai iced tea without the boba, the way it's served in our favorite Thai restaurant, and we will stick to getting our boba tea premade from boba tea shops.

I am a big fan of Locca Boba products. All items I have been using are premium quality with reasonable pricing. This is the new item they have launched couple weeks ago. I have made around 10 servings of boba drinks with this kit. Also this is great product to gift to someone who you loves bubble tea. With this price and premium packaging this is really good deal!
