Room Mates: The Series
B**N
A Fun and Sexy Series!
This is such a fun and sexy series! There are 4 full length novels included and you will fall in love with each one! There's a little bit of everything for everyone, from friends to lovers, brother's best friend, single dad, etc. Here are my reviews for the individual books:*The Room Mate*The Room Mate is a perfect blend of friends to lovers romance with a healthy dose of forbidden love (best friend's little brother). Cannon and Paige have known each other since childhood, but things take a steamy and emotional turn once they unexpectedly begin living together. This is the first book in the Roommates series, but can be read as a standalone.I loved Cannon and Paige, individually and together. They are both caring, smart, and independent people, but they also have their insecurities and baggage. Neither wants to put themselves truly out there. Paige is fearful of the loss of her friendship with Cannon's sister, Allie, as well as the possible hurt and rejection she may face if she gives into her attraction. Cannon doesn't want anything to interfere with his goals to be a physician and to take care of his mother and sister, but how can he resist his childhood crush? The story is told from both of their points of views and it really helped to understand the struggle and emotions each of them were dealing with.Cannon may be 4 years younger than Paige, but these two have amazing chemistry and I loved their witty banter and steamy moments. Cannon is equal parts tender and sweet as he is dominant and assertive. His cute relationship with his mother was adorable, but I did find Allie to be too judgmental and annoying. I understand her concerns, but Cannon and Paige are adults and they can do what ever they want with their lives. I also didn't quite believe that someone as smart as Cannon, would continually find/hook up with such crazy obsessive women. The crazy ex's drama seemed a little too over the top. For better or for worse, both Cannon and Paige make decisions that they think are for the best for everyone. I do wish these two would have spent a little more time being honest with each other though, rather than assuming they knew what the other was thinking and feeling. It made the epilogue that much sweeter though and who doesn't love lemonade? ;)Overall, this was a sexy and sweet book with both lighthearted, laugh out loud scenes and heavier, more emotional moments. I felt invested in Cannon and Paige and the push and pull between them had me feeling all the feels! I can't wait to read the next book in the series!*The Play Mate*This is exactly what I needed - a lighthearted, fun, and sexy friends to lovers romance with a touch of taboo (best friend's little sister). I could not put this book down or wipe the goofy smile from my face while reading. This is book 2 in the author's Roommates series, but can be read as a complete stand alone.Smith had me swooning from the start and I could not get enough of him. The story is told from both his and Evie's points of views, but I really loved Smith's chapters best. His inner dialogue is hilarious and honest. I was surprised though by his initial reaction to finding Evie in his bed. Seriously, wouldn't you be at least slightly alarmed to find someone in your bed unexpectedly, especially if it's so dark you have no idea who they are?!? He's got some emotional baggage, but I loved seeing those walls crumble. There's always something so sweet and magical to me about that moment when the main character opens their eyes and sees what has been there in front of them all along. Evie was also a great character, although there were times she seemed a little immature. I understand her do-over plan was more just an excuse for her to act on her long held crush for Smith, but it was still odd to me that a 22 year old would be so worried that her lady parts would gather cobwebs and wither away. The chemistry between Smith and Evie was undeniable though and I loved how easy it was between them. There was no unnecessary drama or other love interests and the only thing standing in our lovers way was themselves (and maybe Evie's brother, Cullen). The epilogue was fulfilling and adorable and the perfect way to close Smith and Evie's story. I challenge you to finish this book without a smile on your face. If you're looking for a fast, sweet, and lighthearted book, definitely pick up The Play Mate.*The House Mate*The House Mate is a great addition to Kendall Ryan's Roommates series. Although it is book 3, all the books in this series can be read as stand alones. This is definitely an amusing and entertaining read, featuring single dad, Max, and his new nanny, Addison.Max is the typical commitment phobic bachelor who gets his world turned upside down when an ex from the past drops their one year old daughter, Dylan, on his doorstep unexpectedly. I loved Max's transition from tough ex-military man and alpha businessman to teddy bear father. He is equal parts assertive and sweet and his willingness to change his entire life for Dylan was beyond sexy. The push and pull of his feelings for Addison (and hers for him), as well as some other women drama, will have you rooting for them to get their happy ending.I did find Addison a little immature, but that can be expected since Max is 10 years older than her. She is the perfect girl next door though and I loved the light that she brought to Max and Dylan's lives. Yes, there's instalove and things move very quickly (and predictably) between Max and Addision, but overall this was a fun, feel good, and lighthearted romance.*The Soul Mate*This was a really sweet and swoony romance! Yes, there's some instalust/love, but in this case it really works! You will fall for Mason and Bren and root for them to get their happily ever after. Though this is book 4 in the Roommates series, it can be read as a complete stand alone.I thought it was incredibly refreshing to have the hero be the more romantic and expressive person of the pair. Mason was not afraid to lose his man card by talking about his feelings or taking a leap of faith in the name of love. Make no mistake though, Mason is the total alpha package. He is smart, handsome, caring, loving, sexy, and an all around good guy who has lived his life searching for his soul mate. He has always believed that when he finds the one, that she will be it for him and that he will just know in his heart that it's her. He's no saint though, and let's just say he's been very thorough in his long time search. Bren, on the other hand, has closed herself off from love and attachment due to experiences in her past/present. Will Mason be able to break down Bren's walls to give them a real chance at a relationship, or will the pressure of having a child together prevent them from ever knowing if the connection was true?I really enjoyed this one, even with all of the push and pull and occasional over the top moments. Sometimes Mason seemed too good to be true, but I loved how patient and understanding he was throughout the book. Yes, he and Bren both make mistakes, but for better or for worse, they both believe that what they are doing is for the best. There were some really emotional moments in this book dealing with grief, loss and love, but I think it was balanced really well with the more lighthearted scenes. The secondary characters, especially Bren's boss, Mandy, were great comic relief as well as a much needed voice of reason. If you're looking for a sweet and fun romance, definitely pick up The Soul Mate!

A Fantastically Sweet & Steamy Collection
Kendall Ryan’s RoomMates boxset is a collection of steamy stories that illustrate just how close two people can get when they live in close proximity and share a connection that neither of them can deny. The heroes and heroines in each story are dynamic and they offer one another everything they never knew they wanted but now so desperately need in order to feel like their life is worth living! The Room MateThere’s a lot on the line when Cannon becomes Paige’s roommate and they decide to test his theory about women’s unhealthy and instant infatuation with him because if things go wrong and get messy in a way that they’re unable to fix, it might destroy friendships, sibling bonds, and perhaps even wreak havoc on the most necessary organ in the human body, but it also just might be what both Cannon and Paige need to keep making lemonade.I love friends to lovers’ stories, and Kendall Ryan’s newest release creates one with a twist that I haven’t found in many other texts. The fact that Paige is older than Cannon and she’s his sister’s best friend is an unusual plot line for me as a reader and that uniqueness really made for an enjoyable read.Cannon Roth is one HAWT doctor and I would love for him to make a house call, so I can witness his impeccable bedside manner along with his filthy mouth, impressive stamina, and sexified physique;)4 Poison ApplesThe Play MateThe Play Mate is a sweet, sassy, and sexy story with a hero and heroine readers can connect with due to the direction of their lives, how much their pasts play into their presents, and the anticipatory nature of Evie’s operation to get herself an orgasm as well as a man who owns her body and soul.Once again, Kendall Ryan seduced with her characters, her words, and her story line, which is exactly what I want when I read a romance story!4 Poison ApplesThe House MateMax is definitely one of my favorite single dads; the way he jumps feet first into the role and learns as he goes without hesitating to step up makes him extremely swoonworthy. He may not have all of the answers and the situation may not be ideal, especially with how and why he was introduced to his one year old daughter, but she quickly becomes his world, which Kendall Ryan illustrates perfectly through Max’s words and actions. It’s easy to see why Max willingly shakes up his life for his two new women; Dylan and Addison are so easy to love - Dylan because she is a precious little girl who loves unconditionally and Addison because she makes Max’s life easier and fuller all by just her presence and her loving ways.Kendall Ryan’s Roommates’ series continues to offer readers’ sweet and sexy reads with just enough tension to keep them on their toes, ceaselessly turning pages to see if the hero and heroine can work things out, get past the few obstacles that stand in their way, and create a lasting connection that brings them a lifetime of love and happiness.4 Poison ApplesThe Soul MateThe Soul Mate is a sweet and steamy read that gives readers hope that love at first sight and finding one’s soul mate can still occur even in contemporary society - one filled with heartache, divorce, and selfishness. Mason is a wonderful hero who never gives up on Bren because he 100% believes that they’re meant to be together, and while Bren is a harder sell when it comes to defining what she feels for Mason, her struggle means there’s still a way for Mason to break through the wall that surrounds Bren and dismantle it with every kind gesture, every sweet word, and every attempt to make them more than a one night stand.4 Poison Apples
