Stratego - The Classic Game of Battlefield Strategy 1986 Edition

The game came exactly how it was described, maybe even better then I thought it would. It's in great shape and all the pieces are there. It was shipped in a timely manner too. I'm very excited to have this game back on my game shelf for game nights with my family, just like I did as a kid. I'm extremely happy and satisfied with this purchase.

I remember the great times as a young boy in the 60's playing Stratego with my older brother. The cognitive exercises it provided helped me become the genius that I am (ha)... Seriously, it is a great strategy game, and I think it probably did benefit my early development. I just bought two of these for my grandkids.Stratego is a easier than Chess to get started and it's rated for ages 10+, but I think you can drop the age a year or two... we'll see. Looking forward to playing it with them. The reason the 1986 game is preferable is because the game board is bigger and feels more substantial and the "pieces" are screen-printed versus stickers which I'm told come off frequently. Both of these issues were show stoppers for me, which is why I chose to pay extra for the 1986 versions. I was surprised I could still find them "new".

Honesly I thought it was going to be a bad buy. But it came in really good shape. I feel like I got lucky picking from sellers. The box and game are in great shape. All the pieces were there. I didn’t want to buy an original stratego game for $150. But my dads birthday is coming up and he wanted the game. This was a good buy.

It was pricy because its hard to get but the reviews of the newer version showed a lot of disappointed customers. My adult son who grew up with this game was very excited to get this and has taught his 10 year old son now to play. They were in constant competition over the holidays.It was in excellent, new condition.

Exactly what I was looking for. Original number for the pieces with Field Marshall being a one and Scout being a nine, 40 pieces per player allowing to go four rows deep in your set up instead of three rows with the newer versions of the game that only have 30 pieces per player, and the pieces are painted with that silver metallic paint you will remember from the original version of the game. I have heard that the newer versions have stickers that need to be applied to the plastic pieces. What surprised me is that my kids loved this game as much as I did. I have a 14 year old boy who is all about sports and video games and a 12 year old daughter who is all makeup and you tube videos, and they both love the game.

The product arrive two days early. For a game as old as me it was barely used instructions in perfect condition and the game is really fun to play

I purchased a recently released version cheap at Tar--- for my father who enjoyed this game growing up. We looked online later and saw that in the last ten years or so, they have cut the number of game pieces down from 40 per player to 30 per player. I promptly returned that updated version and ordered this on Amazon. I am very satisfied. After becoming concerned about some of the negative comments on the current version of Stratego, I took the risk on getting this used game. It arrived as advertised. I doubt I could find this game in better shape anywhere. It is identicle to the version I used in elementary school. Both my 1st and 3rd graders enjoy it.
