I got one of these primarily to have some kind of lamp/light in the living room next to my side of the couch for reading in the evening/etc. At first I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't a lighter color option as I've been leaning toward brighter furniture lately, but it wound up accenting the couch quite well (I ordered the "rustic brown" option).The shelf pieces were surprisingly sturdy, and had a better finish than I had expected. I'm sure they're still come kind of composite, but they feel strong enough to do their job, and they're nice and smooth on all sides. I noticed that the pre-drilled holes for the little handles actually have a metal guide support (so you're not just drilling into the wood like most cheap furniture), which I thought was a really nice touch.Assembly was pretty streamlined too -- the shelves were all labeled, and it's pretty easy to just put it together from the bottom shelf up (the support poles screw into each other, which also simplifies things). The electronic wiring was zero-hassle -- just plug in a single cable (it has separate connectors along the cable for each shelf, spaced appropriately apart) that leads to the foot pedal + power adapter. The feet screw in which allows for fine-tuning of the leveling, and the shelf stands pretty solidly despite being so tall.The lighting options are pretty cool -- you can go from a very warm yellow to a very cool blue, with a nice mid-range that's not too extreme in either direction. I didn't even realize it came with a remote control when I ordered it, but that's been really helpful. Makes it easy to play around with the brightness/temperature, and has several presets as well.We wound up liking the first one so much that we actually ordered a second one to go on the other side of our couch and replace an old lamp we'd been using. The remotes are paired individually so you if you do have two you can control them separately (that's a plus for us so that we can adjust the brightness to our preference on each side). The remotes are also magnetic and can attach to the shelf poles for easy storage when not in use. The remotes came with AAA batteries to use, but I'd recommend just using your own -- I couldn't even unwrap the batteries from their plastic without deforming them, so I'm not super confident about them.Only other thing to be aware of is the placement relating to wall outlets -- the second shelf is about 19-20 inches up, which winds up blocking the lower wall outlet in our case (and means the top outlet is right above the shelf). Not a problem if you don't have this directly in front of an outlet or if you're using a power surger with a "flat" plug design, but something to be aware of nonetheless.Beyond that, these fit perfectly where we put them and have helped us open up the room a bit since it replaced a bulkier lamp (old school lampshade, and it was taking up space on a side table). Very happy with them.

After I bought one and because I was impressed, I bought two more. I was very surprised that they gave you some extra hardware..I am always concerned that there could be missing parts. The shelves are very easy to assemble. Keep in mind that the shelves are not real wood. I think they are most likely partical board with a wood appearing laminate. The lights are a great feature and the shelves are sturdy. All in all a good value and they look very nice.

Nice display shelves and really easy to assemble. If not for the 4 screws on top, you don't need a tool at all. The shelves light up nicely and have a wide range of color and brightness options. The feet are adjustable so if on uneven flooring, you can level the shelf. I didn't install the handles like in the picture because we don't need them.My only nit, and it's a small one, is that I'd like to operate both shelves with a single remote, but that doesn't look possible.

Unit was easy to assemble, no parts missing or damaged, had it up in 15 minutes. I was looking for something to display my model car collection that was just collecting dust in their boxes... this shelf fit the bill. Though the space between shelves might be a bit much for my cars, I intend to fill the voids with other deco items that will look good under the lights. You have total control to vary the the color temperature and intensity level with the remote control, from soft and ambient, to full-blast "HEY, look at me - aren't I one sexy car?!?" Overall, a great find on Amazon. You're not going to find a better bang-for-the-buck.

Great display shelf; got this for my husband office to display his professional awards. Very classy and he said it was easy to assemble. Lighting options

I purchased these book shelves to display some of my gaming items. I was skeptical as first after looking at the measurements and the price seemed fairly high. After putting them together which was super super easy. I can say these look great, built of quality materials, and the wood does not scratch easy like other materials. I still think they are on the higher end of the price and would be better around 80-100 dollars. I cannot vouch for the lights on each shelf as I am not using them. I’d still recommend. 1 star taken away for high pricing.

Super easy to put together. Very rigid shelving, super attractive and very nice. It took me 20 minutes to put it together. Each shelf has a recessed led lightstrip which creates a very attractive display. There's 2 ways of turning that on, a foot switch and a remote. In all I'm very happy with this unit and maybe I'll order more for unique looks in my mancave. Makes a great display case for my memorabilia.

The media could not be loaded. Pretty good quality for the price. Looks very premium! Took me about 15-20 mins to build. Very easy instructions to follow! No tools needed as everything required comes with the provided tool kit. Very tall shelf space I can even fit in wine bottles as shown in the video. Also comes with a remote control which is super convenient. Adds a great look to the room! Super bright and can be dimmed with the remote! I definitely recommend this product!
