Q: Will this product work on reclining chair cover from slipping down?

No it doesn't work It comes Un attached after a short period of use

Q: Will this work on snow pants to make a hem. it should be a liittle shorter?

I wouldn’t use it on snow pants. Not sure about the moisture,

Q: What "strength" is the velcro? Is it going to pull off of the fabric when I open it up, like in the complaints I read?

More than likely yes. I couldn’t get it to work on my project and decided to just give up after trying multiple times.

Q: I want to use it for a thick woven belt -- will it work? Anybody tried this? I'm wary given the mixed reviews.

I have the small ovals for light weight fabric. Used for closing gaping neckline. If it is tape, probably would work well.
