Hexed (Never After, 6)

I loved this book!!!!! Definitely one of my top favorite reads EVER! I loved the writing and dual POVs. The story flowed beautifully and was definitely a page turner.

I have loved every book in this series, and Hexed was no exception. The villain doesn't get the girl - the villain is the girl, and she is a force.I was a Little Mermaid girlie growing up - I wanted to be Ariel. I even went in her wedding dress 3 Halloweens in a row. In Hexed, I was ROOTING for Vanesa. I loved all of the references to the story characters and their nicknames and personalities. Bas and Gio are super fun sidekicks. And Enzo... oh, Enzo. I'm normally into shadow daddies but this man moved straight to the top of my book boyfriends list.There's murder. Mystery. Humor. Read the TWs if you're sensitive to violence and trauma (although I did not think those themes were heavy here). I give it 3/5 chili peppers - the spicy scenes are delicious, there just aren't a ton of them. Which doesn't detract from the excitement of the story at all!Hexed is as much of a delight as Emily's previous stories - and she wrote it while battling cancer! Loved! Slow burn but addicting and so satisfying. Really enjoyed the characters and plot

First of all, Emily wrote this while battling breast cancer. The strength and will of this woman is incredible. It’s a beautiful story that I couldn’t put down. The cover is absolutely stunning. I love that it focuses on the villains and is a retelling of a classic story. 1000000000/10 recommend. Thank you for this gift Ms Emily

I enjoyed parts of this.. ( spoiler alert ahead) so many good parts that kept me reading. Some (a lot) were rushed. The author could have made two books out of this one easily with the Aria, Rusty and Jessica characters. They could have easily gotten together for revenge ( which would have made an excellent 2nd book. But because the author rushed the Aria characters death was beyond stupid. I enjoyed most of this read. I can say I was disappointed in the last part of the book. Ending was good. I think that she could have had a better build up to the sex parts and had them scattered throughout but it was a big wham bam thank you ma’am . Just had ups and down. I would have loved more about Baisten. His character could have been wonderful just giving him more life. More background to him. He seemed sexy in his own way. Needed alittle more work.

The never after series has been a favorite series of mine for a while now, i’ve loved emily’s take on giving villains their happy endings.This book follows enzo who’s part of a wealthy crime family centered in new york, who gets set up in a marriage to Aria who’s apart of another powerful family and who’s cousin Venesa has been a focal point of enzo’s for awhile now. When Venessa’s uncle wants to make sure that things go off without a hitch he assigns her to keep an eye on enzo not knowing that enzo has never let venesa go.I loved this book because it has all my favorite tropes, mafia romance and it has forbidden aspects. I also loved that venesa she’s the perfect strong female lead, and despite how fierce she was she got her happy ending. Enzo was a goner from the very beginning, he worshipped the ground venesa walked on, and i love that he let her shine. Also venesa is bisexual and I loved that so much.This book climbed quickly to my favorites list of the series it gave me the same feelings scarred gave me and i love it. I also just adore everything emily writes.I loved the twist on the little mermaid for this, and it goes without telling that this isn’t a retelling, it’s loosely based around the villains from the original fairytale.as always check the TW for this book before reading.

Oh man! After following the authors story about her real life Jessica nemesis, I was seriously looking forward to reading about what Vanesa would finally do to her! I guess I will have to use me imagination!! But once again, this book blew me away. Just when you think you know what is going to happen, well, it doesn’t - and everything changes and flips! Trust no one! That’s the message Vanesa receives! Is Enzo trustworthy? Will he still love her after he learns the truth? And will anyone come out of this mess unscathed? You’ll just have to read to find out. I promise you that it will keep you reeling and wanting to keep reading regardless of anything else you have to do!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a reimagining of The Little Mermaid, except Ariel is an evil b*tch and Ursula and Eric fall in love!Mixing mafia-ish romance with a forbidden love, this is a super fun, quick paced, smutty romance that you must read. This is a standalone and can be read without reading the rest of the series, there is no connection! (but i highly reccomend the entire series, it is great!) I love you Emily 💗
