I ordered two Yak Shoe Horns. They work well, being sturdy and smooth enough to leverage your foot into a shoe. But you don't pay a premium price for basic functionality. Rather you pay for the unusual or artistic. The two shoe horns that were shipped were almost entirely black; only one with a slight white marking. I understand that these are natural products and variation is to be expected. My hope was that the producers of these products would curate/select materials that would provide more than a minimal aesthetic and use only materials that had some minimum amount of patterning. My hope was dashed. Mine work fine, but look like ordinary black plastic shoe horns.

These shoehorns are a hit or miss. I actually contacted the company before purchase to inquire about the chance they still had the solid black which many reviewers complained about. I was assured they did not, yet that's just what I received. I was so disappointed. It looked so cheap and plastic that I returned it for another which had a tad bit of color so I kept it.You might be disappointed ( or get lucky) if you base your decision to buy on the beautiful examples they show in their listing.

Let me begin by saying that out of three shoe horns I ordered none looked as beautiful as in the pictures. Two were acceptable, one was plain black, looked like plastic, smelled like plastic or some kind of synthetic material. Overall I liked the two, that had some color to them, enough to keep them. The 3rd, the totally black one, was not pretty or pleasing to look at, smelled bad and overall looked cheaper than the $3.00 Kiwi plastic shoe horn. I requested a replacement. We'll see what I get. I would say one still has a pretty good chance of getting a nice one. It was probably a mistake to order the same item three times from the same seller. I sure hope the replacement looks good. It's meant for a gift.

Too bad reviews of items are solicited mere days or weeks after purchasing an item. But so far, I’m very happy with my purchase. The shoehorn is longer than the basic 5” metal ones I am accustomed to using, and I prefer this length which doesn’t require a full reach towards the ground and the natural material is far superior to metal or plastic. There is no reason to suspect it won’t be usable for years, so I give it five stars.

The size and color of this shoe horn are ok but do match the variability description. Unlucky for me as mine is mostly black with very little of the gold which I would have preferred. 8 7/8" so small but within stated specification. Not a fan of the big logo on the back, but that is revealed in the pictures. Unfortunately, gripping the top of the beveled horn is uncomfortable (but not sharp) for someone with medium large hands so I mostly use a different one now. I also do not like the shiny waxed(?) loop material.

These are nice. Quality made and very appealing to the eye. I purchased 3 and I had a tough time deciding which one to keep for myself. They vary a bit in color pattern and are a tad different lengths which is to be expected given the natural source . These would make a nice gift for anyone. People may not spend $20 on a shoehorn for themselves but to receive one would be a good thing. The price point is good and the quality is excellent. You won’t be disappointed.

When I was a little boy, I had a book that I loved, entirled "Y Is A Yak". It had wonderful drawings of silly but kind looking yaks. When I saw these on Amazon, it was love at first sight. Something from a yak to remind me of 80 years ago and "Y Is A Yak". The shoe horn is wonderful in every way - sturdy, just the right size, just the right shape and so smooth and well made. And every day - sometimes twice a day if I go to the gym, I use the yak shoe horn and it works so well and reminds me of when I was a little boy so long ago.

This hand made shoe horn is a work of art and works incredibly well. Anybody who has nice shoes and is looking for a really nice shoe horn that doesn't pull the heal of your sock up and protects the shoe this is the one.
