Works and not overpriced
Its very lightweight which makes you think cheap. I ordered a cat 6 bundle and it came with another brand tester which I used one time to compare to this one that I bought for my project. Let me tell you this one is so much better in every aspect. Glad I ordered this instead of using the cheap one that came with my kit. I was able to identify a few bad connections I made with this extremely easy. My eyesight is not very good and I knew I would make some mistakes and this tool helped me locate them fast and easy saving me alot of time. Highly recommend

Check the connecting cables before testing the line.
This device is plug and play, it works very well and is worth the money.

Works properly.
Works to test cable wire order.You can turn on and attach the powered end, then go to the other side and attach the unpowered end. Only when both ends are attached will the lights run, so I guess that may save some battery power.

Does the job
Needed to test some cables for recent work I did running some cables through my house, was getting some intermittent connection drops and just wanted to make sure the cables were not the culprit in order to rule them out. Turns out it was the wall plate I was using so nice to have that piece of mind. Figure this device is great to have in your toolbag for anybody who dabbles in homelabbing or DIY networkinggreat product!

Excellent Ethernet Wiring Tool
I love this tool for DIY ethernet wiring and troubleshooting. I don't know why I never had this in my toolbox for so long. Easy to use, inexpensive, and inexpensive.

Excellent value
This little tester is a life saver in the field when my large equipment is charging or with someone else. It even lights up for PoE pulses so you can see which ports are hot and which are not. Solid construction too, though the two halves come apart in my backpack sometimes.

Simple functionality and cheap
Very simple cable tester. Doesn’t have a lot of functionality aside from just seeing if a cable is connected correctly but that’s what it’s for. So reasonable for the price.
