As a fan of Freaky Folklore since the beginning I had to grab this book since it went on pre-order. I can tell you it covers a number of Folklore entities from all over the world. Also the artwork is fantastic. I'm probably gonna be getting a couple tatted. Fantastic read for all ages (13+ in some cases). Whether a rainy day, a cold night, or just lying around a lazy afternoon. This book will keep you entertained. Freaky Folklore is a fascinating collection of folklore from around the world. It includes tales from all continents except Antarctica. Each entry starts with a description of the monster or cryptid according to legends and then is followed by a short story about the creature. It includes everything from Mothman here in the states to the Jiangshi in China, from the banshee in Europe to the Moehau from Maori folklore, and many, many more creatures. Each entry is also accompanied by a beautiful illustration.I love how this book pairs the descriptions of the creatures with spooky stories. The stories are short enough and have the right atmosphere to make great tales to read aloud around a campfire. I also appreciated that the author wrote the stories in their local contexts. It gives the reader a tiny window into different cultural traditions as well as the creatures themselves.If you're a fan of cryptids and folklore, I would definitely recommend checking this one out.

One thing I like about this book is that I follow darkness prevails. I truly like all there story's. So when I heard they coming out with a book, I really ate order it. The book is very detailed ok every cryptids you read the picture is very detailed too. Book is very awesome to read to your 9 year old cause they get very, very interesting for them. This book has no down fall on it allot hard work put into it.

I preordered this book as soon as I saw Darkness Prevails mention it on YouTube. I love listening to scary stories from various YouTubers and podcasts and cryptid encounters are my favorite subjects.This book is better than I imagined and I dove into it as soon as it arrived. The illustrations are lovely and the stories and descriptions are engaging and informative. My kids also really enjoy learning about cryptids and we have had a lot of fun looking through the pages and discovering new creatures.I only wish I could hear these tales in Darkness Prevails voice 🖤

As a fan of Darkness Prevails YouTube channel, I was certainly intrigued when he announced this book. Well worth getting, IMO. It was interesting seeing cryptids from other parts of the world, besides the more common ones like Bigfoot and Nessie.

Love these books, the stories the illustrations everything was great...

This is such a cool book! I love the illustrations and the fact is has both a condensed background of, and an "experience" with the entity. Maybe now people can see the difference between a wendigo and a skinwalker lol.But for those who don't believe in cryptids, this book is still an excellent dive into all things creepy. If not a compendium of true folklore, then one of easy to digest mythological creatures. It showcases beings from all across the world- just opening the door for other cultures and mythos that you can explore.I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for an encyclopedia of creatures- whether to convince your friends and family of what you saw, or just to lose yourself in the world of terrorizing creatures.

Purchased as a gift and he absolutely loves it, each page is a different story and some information about a particular cryptid very much loved

Love folklore and cryptids !! This book is amazing

I can't say anything about the story yet as I haven't read it, but the quality of the physical book is bad. The spine ripped open the feat time I opened it, all the corners are damaged and the glue used to put everything together is flaking off. The replacement I ordered isn't much better. This time the spine didn't rip immediately, but you can twll it's fragile and will happen soon, the corners are damaged again and the glue isn't holding right. The content of the book might or might not be good, but the quality of the make is absolutely not worth it.
