Works well for open out windows
Purchased to use with a portable air con unit. My windows all 4 sides using window frame surround as my measurement was 286cm so I purchased the 300cm(3mtr) hoomee. This was more than enough. Instructions were clear but the basics are cut double sided Velcro to fit around window surround then as my windows open out attach double sided Velcro on inside of window frame. Then attach the hoomee sheet as per instructions making sure you start at your window handle by middling the sheet and simply attach to Velcro.Positivesgood adhesion to window frame, hoomee sheet is strong and well made and Velcro is good quality. Allows you to habe this fitted all year round as window will close when fitted.NegativesAll I can say is having a sheet round your window isn't the prettiest but you can detach the sheet from the velcro if preferred but as I haven't I won't comment on how good fixing and unfixing may affect the adhesion but will say I don't think there would be any loss.

Hard install for semi good results
This was a pain to install as the easiest bit by far was getting the velcro onto the window frame although it brought forward a sweat though I was in the sun as a result. The hardest and most annoying bit was getting the fabric to align up right so it doesn't get misaligned....bit hard to describe but my windows have thick wooden rectangles for their frames so the distance around the frame bit and the window bit is vastly different as a result, even on the inner frame bit. As a result I needed to pinch the fabric for the window bit significantly before getting to the end of the length of the frame bit so that way it wasn't too far ahead of the frame and thus over stretching the fabric.I was very glad though to have chosen to overestimate the size of my window rather than go for one size down for this product as because I would have probably ended up being unable to fit it. However I will say that the product does not create a complete or too good of an seal especially around the pipe for the air conditioner as the zip ties do not do enough to help the zippers create a seal around it. Additionally the velcro has gaps in it despite myself doing my best when installing to push the strips into the corners good enough and with just how velcro works air does get through but less so than without it as now my air conditioner isn't fighting so much against the hot air it's putting out and the air from the outside.

Makes a huge difference!
If you have or are thinking of getting a portable AC unit then definitely get one of these (or one per window you intend to use the AC unit with), it makes a huge difference when you seal off any outside hot air from getting in.During the recent heatwave here in the UK it's been about 35C outside, but I've been able to keep my room at around 20C, but prior to using the window kit it was probably at best 25C - so well worth it!It is worth adding that you do want to make sure you get a complete seal around the window (as best you can), with my AC unit there was a small gap between the exhaust and the zip as you obviously can't close it all the way, so I just used one of the provided ties and wedged a 5p plastic shopping bag to fill the hole. You'll know if you have a good seal if you can't feel any air being pulled in around the edges of the window (when the door to the room is closed), and also when you try to close the door to the room you should notice a fair bit of resistance when it's nearly shut as the air will be being pulled from the rest of your home.I gave 4/5 for Adhesion as after a few days there was a section of the straps that came off of the window, I did make sure to press down all the way around the window so not sure how it came off but it hasn't happened again so maybe it was me leaving the room and closing the door too quickly and causing the air pressure to pull it away (I mean I have sealed the room pretty well!).

OK once installed, but a faff if your window has any fittings. Needs to be right first time.
The product itself is well made and does the job so would have been 5 stars if it was as simple to install as advertised. However I cannot give it more than 3 stars due to the unclear instructions and the difficulty in installing it around the fittings of my window.Firstly, the velcro really sticks and WILL take the paint of your window and frames, so you need to stick it in the right place first time. However, this is tricky because unless your window is exactly the same as that shown in the product's idealised pictures it's not obvious until you get it fitted exactly where you need the velcro. Anything about your window that is slightly different to the ideal version shown in the advertisement will distort the path that the velcro needs to follow. For example, my window has a closer and a large handle and locking mechanism so it took some experimenting to find the right position for the velcro. So in my case I followed the instructions (which are really poor by the way - you'll need to watch their Youtube video which is much clearer) and stuck the velcro first, but as the top and bottom (sill) of my casement are horizontal (not vertical like the instructions assume) the cover has to twist through 90 degrees in two directions at each corner which distorts everything as well. When I tried to reposition the velcro to adjust the fit then the paint was pulled off in large patches. My recommendation is to use bluetack or something to stick everything in place temporarily whilst you adjust and make sure everything is in the best position, BEFORE taking off the backing paper and sticking down the velcro permanently.
