The books look just like the picture and are in really nice condition!
I got these books for myself because I am in love with this series! Such good books! I completely recommend reading them! The only thing I don't like about this particular set is that all the books have different titles than the original books. So that was a bit confusing. Otherwise, very nice!

I wasn't entirely sure if I'd enjoy these when I purchased this collection because it's published by Macmillan Children's Books and I'm getting old. Have no fear, it's totally engrossing and often deeply moving - couldn't recommend it more highly. This collection of 10 books was published between 2000 and 2008. The first 9 books cover Mia's journal entries between the ages of 14 and 16 with some minor gaps (more on that in a mo). From 16, she stops writing her diary to concentrate on her romantic novel. The 10th book picks up almost 18 months later, just before her 18th birthday, when she's completed her novel. Age appropriateness? Casting my mind back to when I was 11, I can say that the first few books don't contain anything that I would find shocking (apart from a passing reference to shower heads). Much of that writing is about making out (kissing) and then there are a couple of comments about the possibility that Mia 'may' have reached second base (action above the waist, but does it count if it's outside the bra?). There is certainly nothing explicit. The 10th book has a notice on the back cover that says 'For Older Readers'. This is principally due to extracts from Mia's historic romantce novel (written entirely from research!) that shouldn't trouble any teens. There is a similar notice on the back cover of the 9th book. I can only think that that is there because almost the entire book deals with Mia's chronic depression. I'd disagree. Younger readers should be aware that depression can hit anybody (I suffered severe depression from the age of 6) and those affected need to know that help, such as Mia receives, is available. Even this book is funny and moving. OK, the gaps. Meg Cabot wrote some more books (novellas) which aren't included in this collection. I read them subsequently and, with one exception (noted below), they are worth getting. I don't understand why they weren't all incorporated into the main books at the time of publication but, whatever Macmillan's reason for doing so, this collection is wonderful as it stands. The missing books are: 4.1/2: Project Princess (2003) - very good but, tiny and expensive and probably not worth it! 6.1/2: The Princess Present (2004) 7.1/2: Sweet Sixteen Princess (2006) 7.3/4: Valentine Princess (2006) There also exist a couple of sequels when Mia is older: 11: Royal Wedding (2015) 12: The Quarantine Princess (2023) Then there are also some 'related' books: Princess Lessons (2003) Perfect Princess (2004) Holiday Princess (2005) These additional books aren't always available in multiple formats, or even new, and a couple are rather expensive. Finally, anyone who has read and enjoyed the following (humorous, romantic teen angst) series will definitely enjoy 'The Princess Diaries': Sue Townsend: Adrian Mole (1982-2009) - 8 books available as a complete collection Louise Rennison: Georgia Nicolson (1999-2009) - 10 books available as a complete collection Sue Limb: Jess Jordan (2004-2012) - 6 books plus a prequel only available individually, used Sue Limb: Zoe And Chloe (2007-2009) - 3 books only available individually, used The two Sue Limb series are not listed as series by Amazon, but individual book titles can be found by looking up Sue Limb's entry on Wikipedia and then searching for them on Amazon. Perhaps the publishers will realise the value of selling these as collections in due course. If you haven't read any of these, do so - you won't regret it. And don't forget to buy 'The Princess Diaries'!

So the books themselves are amazing and they’re a great addition to my library. It didn’t come in the box as shown in the picture, not a big deal but worth mentioning if someone was hoping for the box. My only other complaint was with the delivery, the package was thrown over my fence and some of the books we slightly damaged not much but not what I was expecting when I bought them.

Sonst top.
