Horrendous piece of rubbish. Intermittent connection and either didn't register button pressed or would operate of its own accord. Do not waste your money!

While the remote does work occasionally, its reliability is questionable. It functions effectively only about one time out of three, making it frustrating to use.Another major issue is that despite an update being available, the remote refuses to update, leaving it stuck on its current firmware. This lack of proper updates is disappointing, especially considering that other Google devices typically handle updates seamlessly.Additionally, there is no clear confirmation that this remote has been officially authorised by Google for Chromecast, which raises concerns about its full compatibility. It seems to lack some of the functionality that the original remote offers, which makes me question whether it’s truly compatible with all features of the Google TV platform.In summary, while it does work sporadically, the replacement remote falls short in terms of reliability, compatibility, and update support. I'd recommend looking for alternatives or sticking with the original remote if possible.

Everything works just like the original remote (this is clearly a copy) but the volume buttons on the side do not work. I'll amend this review if I work it out, but otherwise it's a bit of a gap.

Looks and performs exactly like original Google remote. I got this as a space as I often loose the other one in the living room, can’t tell the difference between this and original one even when I look up close with them side to side.

Easy pair and does everything original does

I bought this for £10.98. The remote initially had connectivity issues, which I managed to fix.The cons really outweigh the benefits here. The voice search button doesn’t work. The volume keys don’t work. The power button doesn’t work. The source button does’t work. The mute button doesn’t work. The buttons also feel very clicky which wouldn’t be a bad thing but it feels like the buttons will stop working in a matter of weeks. The ‘right’ button on the circle was already harder to press for it to activate right out of the box.Will be returning this and buying directly from google which I should’ve done in the first place.

The remote worked out-of-the-box, with no setup required. However, the buttons don'e always register that they have been pressed, meaning several presses are needed. Worse still, sometimes it turns out that they DID register some of those presses, and it jumps ahead several steps. Very annoying. Our original Chromecast remote worked seamlessly.I have had the remote for just over one month now and would not recommend it.
