GE Reveal HD+ LED Light Bulbs, 40 Watt, A19 (2 Pack)

I must have written hundreds of reviews on bulbs. So, here's another one. First, let me say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE the incandescent Reveal bulbs. The 60W and 100W Reveal incandescents are the best light quality bulbs ever created...showing good clear and clean lighting. Sylvania had a close one, too, as did Cree at one point. Both are junkified now, too. The incandescent Reveals were not too yellow and not too white. Just perfect. I have tried NUMEROUS LED Reveals over the years now and none of them come close to putting out the great light that the Reveal incandescents do. Fast forward to today. I have a lamp in the hallway that we just want about 40W of light from. My old 5 year old LED Reveal is starting to blink in it now. So, I tried this one. I wish I saved the pictures because they told the tale. However, suffice it to say that even this bulb is more yellow than the older Reveal LED bulb. The older one puts the light out more toward the table, and this one puts the light out toward the top of the lamp. More blinding I would say. There is a noticeable light spot, almost a circle, right on the wall above the lamp. Very annoying. GE Reveals have been junkified. So, to compare, I tried a regular 40W incandescent bulb, the old yellow kind, and took pictures(I take pics to compare bulbs..."this...or this?". I could not tell which bulb was which...except this bulb had the spot on the wall. Back it goes. I hate that bulb quality and light quality are out the window now. We are digressing.

I was worried about ordering after reading the reviews because I had researched prior to buying on amazon. It lit up the bathroom well which before was all yellow light and with a brown colored bathroom it was difficult to see anything clearly when using the mirror. I did notice a pinkish tone to the walls as was stated in other reviews with the Reveal but people blaming it on the light bulb are wrong. First check whether or not your paint color has pink undertones in it, as this will be revealed with the bright white light. Most white paints are not truly white and the light beige/cream in my bathroom has pink undertones to it which was revealed with the new bulbs. As far as style, they don't look the best in a vanity as they are replacing the builder grade hollywood style lights but I'm fine with that for now.

Upon opening the box of bulbs I discovered the two led bulbs were just lying there without any support holding them secure. They both work but for how long. Probably damaged from all the tossing around during shipping. On a positive note I love the warm glow of the reveal HD 2850K bulbs.

So nice bulb.. works well.. brite at 100% however... does not dim all the way and is NOT as good as the original incandescent reveal bulb ( that had the kind of purple tint to them) sure wish GE could replicate that some how... PLEASE PLEASE keep working on it !!!

Everyone has a preference when it comes to LED lights. I've been using the GE Reveal line of bulbs from incandescent, through compact fluorescent, and now LEDs. In my experience they deliver the most pleasing spectrum of light of any LED bulbs I've tried. They are not cheap, but are definitely worth it. They also last - I've been using these LEDs for years not and have not had one die on me yet.

This light bulb did help with the color of my walls. My old light bulb made my walls look really yellow, but they are actually a soft creamy beige. This light bulb helped with the yellow look on the walls.

Fair warning while the product title is "GE Reveal HD Dimmable LED Light Bulbs, A19 General Purpose (40 Watt Replacement LED Light Bulbs), 350 Lumen, Medium Base Light Bulbs, 4-Pack LED Bulbs" you only get 2 bulbs and another 2 invisible bulbs. The bulbs I was able to locate seem to work fine but boy are the invisible ones disappointing.
