Do it all pack
Best features: slim profile, excellent hip straps, comfortable shoulder straps, and just enough frame on the back without feeling stiff. It carries a lot of stuff without feeling bulky or cumbersome.Im a backpack snob, and this is a fantastic backpack. I needed a “do everything” pack and it fits the bill perfectly. I travel a lot for work, so I needed something that could go from a plane to an industrial jobsite and be worn for hours without getting uncomfortable. Aside from work, I wanted a daypack for long hikes in the mountains or adventures seaside. My bag goes with me everywhere. Osprey needs to market their mountain biking bags as multi purpose, this is my second and I love them.

Perfect for a road bike
Very comfortable bag to use when road biking and going fast. I appreciate the easy to use zippers and deep compartments. No issues with sweat but have not used it in summer yet. Also looks slick

Great travel and bicycling backpack.
Starting off with my 1 con that I have with the Osprey Escapist 25: the water bottle pockets are too shallow. Multiple times I've had water bottles fall out (not while cycling) while I took the bag off my shoulders. This is my go-to travel backpack. I removed the rain cover and use that pocket for a tote bag. The sleeping-bag compartment fits my packing cube. Ipad and tech pouch fits the laptop sleeve. The side pocket is useful for quick access to small items like a coin pouch. The front stuff pouch is good for a bicycle lock or a jacket. The helmet dongle works.I've hiked and bicycled all day with this pack with the straps becoming wet with sweat and no funk.

Two thumbs up from a newbie
I am by no means an avid biker, but I do enjoy hiking and found this backpack to be of extremely high quality. I took this out for a three hour hike and have some thoughts.- Backpack materials -It's an Osprey backpack. The materials are great. The backpack seems very durable and is extremely light for the size.- Functionality -The backpack is quite customizable. There are two main pouches. The smaller one has a hook you can attach to something valuable to prevent it from being stolen or falling out. There is also a small mesh sub-pocket for holding smaller items securely. The larger pocket is quite spacious. It has two dividers a removable/adjustable vertical divider, and a permanent forwards-to-back divider that can be smooshed against the wall if you want to ignore it. The main pocket's depth is adjustable with some clips, which is great for securing the load close to the body. The main pocket can also be accessed from the bottom (useful when the vertical divider is in-use), and excellent design choice in my opinion. There is a large 'pocket' without zippers that hugs closest to the body. This seems to be for a water pouch, although this area can be compressed with some clips if you're not using it. There is also a small pouch near the very bottom for storing the rain cover. Lastly, there are side pockets that are part of the waist band. These are very convenient for accessing items without taking off the backpack. These side pockets can fit a Galaxy S23, but aren't much bigger.- Adjustability -I'm a larger 6'1" man and this backpack fits me quite well. The straps have plenty of adjustment, and can get quite tight even if you're a healthy weight. Once you get the hang of it, you realize that this backpack can be adjusted in quite a few different ways to ensure the payload is tight against your body, for the lowest leverage. The medium/large size seems to be suited well to the height of average men. I see it being too 'tall' for my 5'1" wife.- Comfort -During my hike, I hardly noticed the backpack was there. I had a fairly light load, but it was bulky. With a jacket on and a dog making my movement sporadic and occasionally restricted, the backpack moved well with me. Honestly the best praise I can give is to say that I basically forgot the backpack was there. Last time I was in Colorado in the Rockies, I remember getting annoyed that my backpack didn't fit snugly, especially around my waist. The shape of this backpack makes it excellent for long day-hikes. It hugs your body very well around the waist and chest, plus has breathing room with a cooling mesh cutout for your spine.- Overall -I'm very happy with this backpack and expect it to last for many years to come. I'll be taking it with me as my carry-on this summer when we go to another national park!

Great lite weight pack with a slick and streamlined design.
This brand secured my loyalty a long time ago. Their products are of top quality and despite the extensive R&D program they have managed to keep their products at a reasonable price. Osprey has amazing customer service and they stand behind their products. I have had an Osprey pack for 20 years and they still continue to service it if needed or supply me with parts if I should need to replace a buckle or something. If a zipper gets buggered or you have threads come loose you can send it in and they will fix it and send it back to you. If you step on a buckle and it snaps and you can easily fix it yourself they will send you what you need. They have a solid commitment to reuse and environmental stewardship. You are not just buying a pack when you get an Osprey but you are subscribing to an idea and gaining that pack for a lifetime. The Escapist follows the standards of quality that I have seen with this brand. The materials are of the highest quality and uses next generation textile technology. This pack is lite weight and is designed for on the go activities. The features on this pack target use for bicycling and hiking with webbing loops for securing carabiners, helmet clips, hydration reservoir compartment, quick release buckles, and breathable material around the belt and back. There are stretch pockets on the belt that will take a 1L nalgene but its pretty tight, I would use something that is a bit smaller that fits better like a 1/2 L, it is more comfortable on the hips and wont stretch out the fabric. The pack material is not waterproof though I think a light and brief drizzle would not soak though to the contents, but if you were caught in a pour there is a built in and stow-able rain fly that tucks into the bottom of the pack. At 20L this pack is a great day pack not to extend over night as well as a carry on. Great for city adventure as well as the wilderness. This is not an expedition weight pack and its not bullet proof but if you take care of it within reason it will last you a lifetime. Solid 5 stars!!
