To hold larger dollar coins an additional binder coin pocket sheet will have to be purchased that meets the specs of the binder size.

I have collected coins since I was a kid and by this I mean keeping back interesting coins that I have come across. Working in retail I have come across my fair share of Morgan dollars, wheat pennies, and mercury dimes, for example. Over the years I have misplaced many due to not having a devoted location to put them but this book holder will help me to organize what I can find. The largest coins that I have been able to fit into the coin slots are JFK half dollars. They are snug but do fit. I have not filled this completely yet, but just the couple pages of half dollars that I have filled I can see that this album will be quite heavy when full. At first I loved the combination of currency and coin holders in one album but do see that as a potential problem as the coins may cause the currency pages to bend or fold due to their weight. The opening binder rings help me to move pages around or even add pages should I want to, and I may just make this a devoted coin album and move the currency pages to their own album.I took off a star for this, because as other reviewers have noted, I do not know what the sheets are made of. No where does it state that they are acid free. For something that is supposed to protect my collectible coins and bills from fire and water, then it should have at the very minimum of acid free pages.

This is a good sized album for your coin collection. It is a large sized album that is approximately 12 x 10 inches. It is about 2 inches in width. This allows for a lot of coins to be stored.The coin pages are a soft vinyl. This makes placing them in the pages easier. There is a small top flip on each coin pocket to keep the coin from sliding out. No need to put coins in flips and then in the pages!This holds coins in either 5 by 6 (30 coins) or 4 by 5 (20 coins) pages. Again this is great for highlighting smaller or larger coins separately or together. It’s a nice choice to have.The album has a zipper to close the album for extra safe keeping and protection. It is supposed to be waterproof and fireproof. I did not test either one of these conditions.The binder clips that hold the pages work well and have some height which allows you to use all the pages when all are filled with coins (I had an album where I could only use half the pages because of the smaller sized binder clips).I love the look and ability to store coins in a variety of ways.When you fill all the coin pages, this is a heavy album. I would suggest to store your album flat. If you store it on the side (upright), the weight of the coin pages may make the pages pull and sag. .A strong and sturdy album that will hold a lot more of your coins.

A must have for currency collectors. My hubby collects coins as well as paper currency. I have ordered him many a currency binder but, had no clue they made them fireproof. Gives you a huge sense of security that your rare currency is safe. Very well made, nice hard structure. Zipper to enclose it all. I think it holds up to 300 coins

I really like this coin mounting book. It is heavy when filled w coins, but they look good, and they are protected from scratching, etc. I did not order this out of concern for fire, and I have no way to know if it works for that, but I confess it is nice to feel the coins may be protected that way, since they belonged to my grandfather.
