Even better than expected!
I follow Salt Hank on Youtube and Instagram for a long time, and made several of his recipes in the past few years, and I've also ordered some of his spice mixes. I've been waiting for this cookbook for months, and finally I has arrived yesterday. I absolutely love IT, as it is above my expectation, although I couldn't describe exactly what I was expecting...ha...ha. Maybe I was expecting a book of lots of sandwich recipes, but this is so much more! I'm a seasoned cook and just by reading a recipe and looking at a picture of a dish, I can tell if it'll be good or not. The recipes in this book are so pomising, that I can't wait to most likely make them all in a span of time. Every recipe contains an introduction or story, which is a very nice addition. There are two indexes, one in the front of the book listing all the names of recipes, (I counted 84), and one in the back. The index in the back is well thought out, as it is very well organized, also cross-referenced. You can literally think of an ingredient, like BBQ sauce, or cheese, or caramelized onions, etc., and you can find the recipes containing those ingredients. The book is printed on quality thick paper. The finish of the pages are smooth and silky, and feels amazing to the touch to the point, that you don't want to put it down. Great job Salt Hank, and can't wait to start cooking (most likely tonight).

Fun book
Highly recommend this cook book. The pictures are vibrant, clever, and fun. The recipes are delicious and the commentary is enjoyable to read. Salt Hank makes the average person feel like they can become an above average home cook

Great recipes! Get it...you won't be sorry!
I follow him on Instagram so I was very excited to see his book and immediately ordered a copy for my Son as a Christmas gift. Great approachable recipes, but also some that will get you out of a rut without sending you on a scavenger hunt for recipes. I had to try a couple of the recipes (sorry Son, slightly used xmas gift coming your way). Already made the Lumpia, Bruschetta Brick Chicken, Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos and the French Dip Sando (which was delicious!) Get it...you won't be sorry!

Great recipes!
Great recipes! I've made a handful of them so far and every one of them a hit. Especially love the Bang-Bang shrimp tacos!! This book has the usual suspects ( appetizers, main courses etc.), but also goes into fermented and pickled food and my personal favorite of this book, the Sauces, Dips, and salsas, which makes everything taste good! Definitely recommend, especially if you want to make something that stands out.

Beautiful book, very doable recipes
I’ve been waiting for months for this cookbook. It’s beautiful! The recipes look delicious but equally as important NOT FUSSY OR DIFFICULT. I cook a lot and every recipe in the book uses ingredients I have on hand or can easily get for a reasonable price. I can’t wait to try the fried calamari w/fried lemon and pickled peppers and the walking tacos!

Just okay
So, based on the Salt Hank social media content, I came into this with some expectations. I expected loads of juicy sandwich recipes, a focus on making most of the recipe components from scratch (ex. homemade sauces, pickles, meats, salads/toppers, etc), and recipes that were geared towards indulgence and flavor (health be damned sometimes!).Instead, the recipe list is sort of a hodge-podge of recipes that the author likes (some Mexican dishes, roast chicken, prime rib, and paleo bowls), with barely a sandwich in sight. There are definitely some Salt Hank mainstays that I was glad to get the recipe for (like his sauces!), but there were also a lot of recipes from social media posts that I expected to find here, that were missing. There are the component recipes that I was expecting. And recipe list doesn't seem all that indulgent - it seems more like Hank's real favorites vs. what's most on-brand or popular with his audience.I think my biggest gripe is just the writing style, which seemed rushed. For the Carne Asada, for example, the cooking instructions were so bare-bones that it was impossible to know how to replicate the sear he gets on such a wet meat. Technique details are never explained or given, which means I'm often having to research the recipes before I try them (ex. looking up roast chicken techniques revealed a lot of good tips, like letting your seasoned chicken sit for an hour for the skin to dry a little, that I wouldn't've known to follow if I'd just gone through Hank's steps).
