New dairy goat owner. This book has been invaluable to us. It cover everything from housing to medication to feed to even wild weeds you can grow and cultivate or forage yourself. It guided me right through the kidding process and we had no problems when the three littles came into world. Excellent book, highly b.v recommend !

Storey’s is the best animal guide. I have their books for chickens, cattle, horses. They are to the point, written in plain English, cover everything you need to know from regular care to reproduction and illnesses.

I am new to the idea of dairy goats and wanted a book that will go over everything.. I believe this is the book. It explains everything nicely, even the subjects that are controversial among the dairy goat community and gives opinions on all sides (such as dis-budding, line breeding, home remedies and vaccinations). The pictures and diagrams and charts are very nice quality, especially the charts for food selection. I learned a whole lot and now feel much more confident with my decision to purchase a heard of my own. I know I will be referencing this book in the future when I encounter some of the situations it spoke about. The only thing I wish it expanded on more would be the different breeds. There is little information about them and what makes them different and how to choose what breed is best for me. I found a website which helped me pick a breed of choice. I would still recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn about dairy goats.

Loved this book!

This is a good book for people new to goats. It has some information on all aspects. Not allot of in depth information but it’s a good start with information on lots of aspects of goat care.

My daughter recently started raising dairy goats so I purchased this book for her. She’s read it cover to cover telling me all about it. She loves the book and has learned a great deal about caring for her goats and planning for future expansion. She continues to use it at a reference.

This book was a good read. Gives basic care,feeding, veterinarian and shelter requirements . Great value. Good book to read before you purchase a goat.
