Pros: I like it, smells good, cleans well, and a lot lighter in weight than liquid detergents. I order this online so I don’t have to buy detergent when I do groceries which is usually the heaviest thing in the cart. Also it’s cruelty free and claims it’s environment friendly and it’s what I’m looking for these days.Cons: the packaging says 1 scoop is good for 1 load. But usually when I do medium loads, I had to put 3 scoops if its cottons, and less if it’s jeans/bed sheets. Because if not, I don’t see bubbles and the clothes don’t come out smelling fresh.I’ve read reviews that this stained some of their clothes, so what I normally do is I dilute 1 scoop in a tall cup of warm water and add it in the washer’s dispenser drawer like liquid detergent instead of adding the powder directly on the clothes. I have no bleached/stain issue so far.Most importantly, this product is very powdery and I recommend wearing an N95 mask when scooping the powder. I inhaled this many times so I had to wear a protective mask (similar to painting mask).It’s a little inconvenient but I like it and I would buy again.

I love this laundry detergent and will probably continue to buy for our family, but out of the 3 times I’ve purchased this from Amazon, twice the box has come open unleashing a foggy mist of the residue from the soap when you open the bag basically making you choke. 🙈 the cardboard box is always intact but somehow the paper bag inside of the box holding the detergent is always broken, sending all of the particles into the box and into the amazon bag resulting in wasted product. Love the effort for no plastic packaging, but I think there needs to be some attention to better packaging or easier handling on Amazon’s part.Otherwise, love the scent and how it cleans! Always comes with a scoop and about half a scoop does great for a regular load of laundry for us.

but the fine the fine soap dust that is created when I take a scoop from the container to put in the washer makes me cough and wheeze. It doesn't happen is I wear a mask.

As others say this soap does tend to float in the air. I store mine in a mason jar so there is less disturbance when scooping out. I also scoop one out into a small jar of hot water and let it sit until the next wash. It’s soap, so it dissolves better in hot water and turns into a gel as it sits. I haven’t had an issue of it leaving a film on the laundry. This might seem a little inconvenient, but it’s worthwhile to me to not be using plastic and using soap instead of harsh detergents. I’m just an old lady by myself so my laundry isn’t especially dirty. I used a toothbrush and some soap as a prewash on some mud.

Update: Per instructions. I added the dry soap to warm/hot water first to help it dissolve. It does not. Still leaves white flakes to finished clothes. Changed my rating from 3 stars to 1 star.My husband and kid have sensitive skin. I bought this because I wanted to try a powder detergent. The instructions say to dissolve the powder in hot to warm water first. I don't have a hot water hook up to my washer, just cold. I tried it with my cold water and it does not dissolve. It leaves a weird, almost sandy, white tiny bead like residue on the clothes. We have hot water up stairs in our house, but no one has time for any extra steps to get laundry done!The powder is potent! When I put the powder in my washer the smell makes me cough. Like it has some chemical component. Even with commercial popular soaps, I've never coughed from simply putting it in the washer. I'm not even that sensitive to smells! I've been cleaning houses since I was 10. I've never coughed using bleach or comet! So I have NO clue what is triggering a physical reaction from something meant for sensitive skin.Needless to say, I will not be using this product anymore.

I was reading the negative comments and decided to write a review. I just ordered the lemon grass again. Yes: the package might arrive with powder spilled out of the box, and, yes, when scooping it up it makes you cough (I just hold my breath and leave the laundry room quickly to avoid breathing in the dust) but despite all this I will keep using it because: My clothes come out of the wash nice and clean and best of all soft! because there is no residue built-up. When used as recommended by the manufacturer you will see a difference.

Love it make your clothes smell fresh and clean and work way better then most powder detergent
