Edge of the seat thriller
Mike Madden continues in the beautiful style of Tom Clancy. He builds the characters in the beginning and almost make you feel like you know them. He sets you up with a ordinary situation that turns very interesting very fast. His character John Ryan Jr. is believable and an imperfect man, who has human feelings , and you feel for him, when he gets blind-sided by the bad guys. He is not infallible and sometimes comes up on the dirty end of the stick, being saved at the last minute by his own or others.. You are right there with him, cheering for him and hoping that he can turn the situation around. The odds are against him, but he pulls through in the end. As you read, however, you a never sure of the outcome. A suspenseful and exciting novel, well worth the time.

Just like the good old days!
I have greedily consumed every novel with Tom Clancy's byline, all the way back to "Hunt for Red October." I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The plot is non-stop action. The characters are believable. Jack Ryan, Jr. Is coming along as a character, fully as memorable as the early novels, which had Jack Sr. As the main protagonist. The setting includes the same cutting edge technolological content which was the hallmark of the early Clancy work. In short this installment is the best one to come along since Tom Clancy passed away. Bravo, Mike Maden, keep up the good work. Don't miss this one.

Very good action adventure story
There is plenty of action in this book. The ending is a little hard to believe but the rest of the is exciting and fun to read. Jack is bigger than life in this book. I do recommend this book.

Great plot, and wonderful characters.
Jack Ryan is tasked to travel to Singapore for a "white hat" inspection of a company that an American company is bidding on. This was supposed to be a trek not involving espionage and danger. Little did Jack Ryan know he was going to be thrown into a high stakes game of intrigue, with the consequences being the world financial markets. This was a great read, that kept you wondering who was doing what to who and why. Very enjoyable, and worthy of the Clancy legacy.

Read this
Did Tom Clancy come back to life? Except that the book is only 500+ pages instead of 800+ that Clancy would have written, you can't tell the difference. The 3 or more sub-plots run smoothly just like a classic Clancy, although I must say he was the master of that and at times had so many sub-plots that you would wonder how they would ever be tied together. But I enjoyed this book...but how long is Jack Sr. still going to be the President?!?

Great Addition to the Jack Ryan Series
Mike has found a way to seemlessly add to the famous and long-lasting Jack Ryan Series. All your friends are back for this chapter, at least for the opening scene. That's where our hero has a few personal struggles that end up pitting him against some tough charaters, intent on either stopping his "white side accounting assignment" or ending Jack Jr's life. This is a must-read for all serious Clancy and Jack Ryan fans. Lots of moving parts and plenty of subterfuge. It all comes together to keep you on the edge of your seat, with plenty of detailed action fighting sequences that put you right in the middle of the action!

Jack, Jr & an accountant are tasked by Gerry to Singapore to examine a company that a former US Senator’s company wants to buy.
Before they leave, the Senator asks the accountant privately to take a USB with him to install a little program that the “CIA” wants installed because the proposed acquisition is primed for some amazing new products. Jack, Jr knows nothing about this. The proposed acquisition in Singapore has security beyond belief which makes the story unusually good. This is another great read in this series.

Maden joins the list
Mike Maden writes with the knowledge and flair that we have come to expect and respect in the aftermath of Tom Clancy's passing. Point of Contact is a thriller to the end. Never quite sure who is responsible for what until late in the book, as it should be. Great read for Clancy followers, and a great addition to the Jack Ryan Jr. series.

2.5* and if they stay like this for much longer 2*
These most recent books are nowhere near as good as the original Clancy authored stories. Strange really as I read these authors own books and enjoy them very muchNot sure what it is really, but a lot is lacking. Less action, less grittiness, less suspenseThis story is just about Jack Jnr again, a couple of very.small sub stories that kind of link to the main one, but nothing would have been lost without themOverall a marginally average book, that had.possibilities and failed to meet most of them

Once on board with the story I did find it hard to put down
I enjoyed Tom Clancy books in my teens so I thought I would give this a go.Once I start a book it is unusual for me not to finish it.But this one got shelved for a few months as the start did not get my interest. Even on the second attempt I very nearly gave up early on it. Maybe I missed out on reading previous books but none of the characters drew me in until Paul Brown is introduced.Once on board with the story I did find it hard to put down. On balance there are enough parts where it lives up to its billing to make it a worthwhile read.

Another good book in this series
This was a well thought out book set, in the main, in Singapore. The story is very up to date in terms of the digital age and the threats facing the World. The story has a number of red herrings which lead the reader in different directions whilst returning to the main theme, good intense book with plenty of action.

Absolutely superb....Clancy would have been proud.
To follow the master has never been easy, and none more so than Tom Clancy. A great story has to be believable well researched with as much detail as possible, this book has all that and more. The usual characters are all there and the both grabs you and sucks you in until you don’t want to put it down. The classic insomniac’s dream. My compliments a superb read.

NOT A PAGE TURNER
An interesting, well written storyline but it does tend to go into a lot of uneccessary detail which can be a little boring. The action, when it happens, is as one would expect fast and furious. I enjoyed the book but not as much as later Clancy/Ryan editions however, it is a good read.
